Yum! This place is a must try BBQ joint. Their meat is oh so tender and their different sauces are quite memorable. We really enjoyed their golden BBQ sauce and the spicy vinegar based one as well. We split a pulled pork platter with potato salad and coleslaw, which was more than enough food for my partner and I. Loved how the slaw was vinegar based and colorful! The beer was very affordable and cold too! Very friendly service and extra points for being dog friendly too! Looking forward to stopping on our next road trip.

Great homemade BBQ and homemade sides! Very friendly! VERY Clean. Outside or Inside seating. Nicely renovated! (see pictures). Easily accessible right off 77/81 side road. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating. Pictures of menu included.

I’ve seen High Plains Barbecue from the highway a number of times, but only today had the opportunity to visit. Four in our party: wife, two teens, and I. Combined, we ordered pulled pork, brisket, cole slaw, and mac and cheese. Everyone enjoyed it—a lot. Friendly service, clean, well-considered layout and design, and the one that really matters: great food. During our meal, I commented to my wife that each item was a cut above. The mac and cheese was light, smooth, and tasty. The cole slaw included surprising elements and melded together for a gourmet flair without being fussy. Those who ordered the pulled pork said it was great. I can speak for the brisket first hand as I thoroughly enjoyed it. As a bonus, my 16 yr old noted how clean and well organized the kitchen appeared to be. Big plus in my book. The pics of the teens with the giant Clint Eastwood sigh are post-worthy ;-) . We’ll be back. Strongly recommended.

Pretty cool stop right off the interstate! Fantastic ribs!! Super good flavor and yummy sauce to go with them (they recommended the mustard base sauce which I typically don't like but this one was good). The collard greens had a sweet flavor at first then a heat on the backend. They were a little different but I ended up liking them. The Mac and cheese was not super creamy (my preference) but just creamy enough for me to like it. I didn't care for the cornbread thing that came with the plate but I am not a fan of the super dry cornbreads like some folks are. I think my black eyed peas are better and more flavorful but I'm partial to my own. These were a little bland I thought. But a good portion size. I also tried a black bean brisket chili on special. I felt like it needed something. Salt maybe. Otherwise it was good. I also tried the pulled pork. It was juicy and delicious without any sauce! The people working there (I assumed they were the owners) were super nice and super helpful. This is a counter service place with indoor and outdoor seating. It has a gravel parking lot. Clean bathrooms. Cute decor. I'll come back and I'll get ribs again, Mac and cheese, and collard greens. And maybe a dessert!
