Very interesting small town museum. The curator is very knowledgeable on local lore and current lineages. The museum offers a small gift shop, interactive displays, bathrooms, and parking out front. The tickets were about $10 per adult, and they accept credit cards, and donations. The themes range from ecological to economical so you will see the history of fossils, guns, salt, and more. We spent about two hours there reading the plaques and moseying around. Would recommend at least once if you're within the area.

What a fun place to learn about our beautiful, mountainous area. Love the exhibits about the Mastedon and Mammoth finds and the Native exhibits were very informative and easy to do on a self-tour. It is wheelchair accessible and a good day trip to take in the local Saltville area. I bought a mini Wolly Mammoth in the gift shop and just love the Appalachian history alive here.
