I moved my sister from a horrible branded national assisted living community in Northern Virginia to Canterfield at Clay County..and it is night and day difference--the key is the CARING people in Canterfield; they work as a team to look after the elderly...they perform tasks outside of their "titles" and duties...the place is new and the food is great--there is in house salon, PT room, theatre etc etc -- highly recommended==but again, it is The People--THANK YOU Julie

Our mom moved here from an independent living apartment in Gainesville to be closer to me. We loved visiting her, staff were always friendly. Mom enjoyed her stay here. When her dementia worsened, she moved into the Memory Care unit and received excellent care. No place is ever going to be perfect and staffing shortages are everywhere in this industry, but we always felt she was cared for with love and dignity. If you are looking for a place for your loved one, I would highly recommend you look here. Mom passed last month and I miss her terribly but I also miss going to visit with her Canterfield family. We couldn't have found a better place for her to live.

Two years ago my Dad had to have surgery. He walked into the hospital but after could not care for himself safely. The responsibility fell on me and I was at a loss. I contacted the director Brenda Lee and instantly knew Dad would be at home. He had a rough first couple weeks due to another hospital stay but everyone was so caring with great concern. He was so comfortable living there. The staff are beyond caring, understanding and loving like family should be. Please visit and take a tour. It is just an amazing facility to call home. Thank you to the entire staff! Much love to you all!

Moved my brother yesterday into this facility, how understanding and caring the staff is. Their was staff coming and going in my brothers room, made me feel like a hero that I chose this facility.

Canterfield of Clay County is not a Medicaid contracted community in the memory care or assisted living units. We will do our best to work with each individual financial situation and we do have two semi private rooms in our memory care unit to try and help those with limited budgets.
We do everything within our Limited Nursing Assisted Living license to keep residents in our community as long as possible. We can often utilize hospice services to be able to keep a bed bound resident in our commuinty, Canterfield of Clay County is our residents home and we strive to keep them home.
We are in the process of building independent Villas directly behind our community, however we also offer independent living apartments currently within our existing community.
