This place has great potential, but it was underwhelming for me. The town should do more to improve this site. First, the road up was a bit bumpy, part gravel, nothing concerning, but I would be cautious in a low profile vehicle. Second, once at the top there is a nice covered picnic area if that is your thing. Lastly, the "trail," which was the disappointing part. It was not marked, and although difficult to get lost given the small area, there were a few turns that I was unsure of. There were lots of washouts and overgrowth. I saw what I thought to be poison ivy at several places up top so be careful. There was no view at all that I saw due to the forest canopy and overgrowth which is a shame given the viewpoint. I will go back during the winter to check the view after the leaves have fallen. Marion should step up and improve this site. Most importantly, clear out a viewpoint of the town up top. You are missing out on marketing gold.

Picnic area is nice. Don't come for the view, there isn't one. The trail is not marked, at all. This is basically a choice between the service road and the rain wash. We did find a sign on a trail, but it was a strange loop and no markings on either end. If you are looking for a quiet, steep walk up a mountain, this is your place. If you want a view worth the climb, keep looking. Grade on the way up the road is up to 12 degrees.

Don’t go if it’s dry. It’ll be closed.

Steep drive and short steep, peaceful hike. In the summer the leaves from trees cover most of the views, but it is still beautiful. It is what some might consider a little strenuous because you're pretty much at an incline the whole time up til the top. The path itself doesn't have boulders or steps; it is mainly gravel or dirt and what I would consider smooth for a trail. At the top, the trail is more grass and less manicured.
