In general we love Cafe Zupas and religiously frequent their other locations in the valley when we're in town. Love their fresh menu and often get a sandwich with a half salad. Great combination, and I always end up overeating by the time I finish the roll (that comes with the salad) and the chocolate covered strawberry (that comes with each meal/combo). Zupas itself is a 5/5. That said, we tried this location for the first time recently and it was the first time we've ever been disappointed. I made it half way through my salad before I realized that all the dishes our food was served on was covered in a reddish film that was easily being scratched off by our utensils while we ate. It was clear that the dish washing practices at this location, at least on the day we visited, was sorely inadequate. Made my stomach turn a little and, quite honestly, we'll probably pass on the Zupas the next few trips we take to the area. Love the food, but the dirty dishes in this last trip really ruined an otherwise pristine experience.

First time visit and Jon suggested a few things right away so I just asked him to order for me. He set me up with a delicious chicken sandwich and side salad. Loved how he took over and the food was fresh and fantastic!

This is a great option for people with some time, and also for people looking for a faster quality lunch experience. There is no table service here. You order your food at the counter and literally watch while they prepare your salad or soup or sandwich. The food here is not inexpensive, but they have a great deal called the "take 2" option. You can select one of their hot or cold sandwiches and a half bowl of soup or half salad for about $11. Finding seating after your order is completed is usually not a problem. They clean and turn the dining areas fairly quickly, and the restaurant is clean and tidy. All of the accessories to dining, such as utensils cups and condiments are readily available without having to go back to the checkout line. The food is prepared very well here. But I might say that the average man might find the portions slightly on the lacking side and looking for a little more.

Zupas latest strategy is to fill the container with noodles so they don't have to give you as much soup. If you ask for pasta in the tomato basil soup be careful they fill the container with noodles then put almost half of what the soup they normally put in.

I went there tonight - they don't have working WiFi. Other locations do, they do not.
