White is aged four years, black is aged eight. Blue (my fav) is aged thirty years but goes for >$150 a bottle. So in the end, it depends on your budget. I would say white is fine for a mix drink, and black is better straight up.

Local ordinances, which continue to evolve.. Please note that a few years ago Burnsville was a "Dry City". Yancey County still does not allow the sale of alcohol.
