good place To take your trash being that it's free but you will always be accused of putting more oil in the oil container even though I have a car that uses oil so I keep full gallon of new oil in the car

Our Recycling Convenience Ctr is GREAT !!! Well organized & maintained. Thank you Henderson Cnty!!

Great place to do our recycling. Organized, clean and with plenty of space. My only complaint is the yellow jackets. I have to wait weeks in between going because of the pain and itching from the stings to go away. Surely there must be some solution to this ongoing problem

Easy to use, friendly and helpful staff!

Don't forget to have it strapped or covered or they will turn you away
No, they dont
I'd check their website. Usually they close on holidays
If you take it to the recycling center and have equal amounts of trash and recyclables it's fee.
Whatever you bring to the dump has to be covered with a tarp or net or they will not let you through the gate. Recycling center seems less strict about that but I would still cover....just to be covered...ya know, CYA....ok, I think I've covered everything....cover.
Yes
No
They don't pay for recycling. It's a place you can get rid of almost any recycling item except for tires. They have to go to the transfer station next door
Yes 10.00 minimum
Here is a complete list... https://www.hendersoncountync.gov/engineering/page/rates
Depending on the books, I have taken mine to the library to be used by them or sold by "the friends of the library."
There is a barrel on the right as you go in for batteries.
No, but you can bring them to our transfer station.
Yes 7-4
Just cardboard, but you can put as much garbage in bin as the amount of cardboard you recycle. Stow garbage in white plastic bags. There are 2 different bins for garbage and cardboard. Original response was 2 years ago ... They take Plastic now and you place in same bin as cardboard. You don't need to bring garbage.
Also household trash is only kitchen and bathroom trash. If you bring trash to the transfer station it's 10 dollars for 340 lbs or less, after that it's 60 dollars/ton
Yes
Transfer station will take them. There is a fee. https://www.hendersoncountync.gov/engineering/page/convenience-center-recycling
At the transfer station
Hendersoncountync.com ... Look under engineering then convenience center recycling
Yes
Household trash must be bagged, recyclables must not be bagged, unless it's the blue recycling bags. Boxes must be broken down, but multiple boxes are allowed. Cardboard, paper, plastic, cans are all single stream in one container. But glass gets put in a separate container.
Yes, I put it with the rest of the trash
Household trash is ok, but if it is more than just a little it needs to be taken to the transfer station. We are open Monday through Saturday 7am to 4pm.
No
Yes
Yes, at the transfer station.
If it is metal and empty yes, you can put in the metal pile, if it's plastic it must be taken to the transfer station, where if will cost $10
Transfer Station.
That will go to the recycling center and it is free! Next to transfer station.
I don't think so.
It will go in the metal pile, the last dumpster as you round the circle. Please put it on the right side of the steps.
You will take them to 191 transfer station drive, go through the scales. It will be $10/340lbs or $60 per ton...we are open 7-4pm Monday through Saturday.
I was told on hazardous waste day in September. He said it cost a couple dollars per gallon
No you can not. Our first household hazardous waste day should be the second Tuesday of September. You can bring them to the recycling center that day until 12pm.
Closed most holidays or the business day after one. What day was this? Might have been Martin Luther King day. Before a holiday signs are posted two weeks ahead of time, and it's on the website.
