David the estimator came within a couple of days of my intital call and went through the entire house with me, in person, to quote the job. Even though there were some variations in what we actually moved (more) vs. what was in the survey from David's visit, they did not chage the quote which compared favorably to the other quotes I received. We had a big and somewhat complicated move - downsizing from big house to smaller condo. The timing dictated that we move our on Monday and into condo on Wednesday, so our stuff had to be stored on the truck for 2 nights. Further, in addition to the move to the condo, there was a separate move to our storage unit after the condo move in was completed. Eli and his crew were timely, polite and professional. They packed and handled our stuff very carefully. At the condo, some of the biggest oieces of furniture could not fit on the elevator, so they carried them up 3 flights of stairs without complaint or additional charge. All in all, it was a very good experience. I would highly recommend Freedom Moving.

As of 2018, the deduction for moving expenses has been eliminated (other than for active members of the military who relocate under military orders). Suddath offers two options for you to choose what's the best option is for you and your move. We offer a minimum coverage at no cost, which provides you .60 per lb per article. It is the most economical option available, but it only provides minimal protection. In addition, Suddath offers full value protection if you would like to replace or have the item repaired to the condition that we received it in, if something were to be damaged. The cost for that is $6.00 per 10,000 lbs. For example, if you have a 10,000 lb shipment, you'll have $60,000 in coverage.
With Suddath, you have the option of either an in-home survey, or you can schedule a virtual survey which can be done from your phone or tablet. From there, you have two options. We can provide a binding estimate, or a binding cost of moving services that will be specified in advance, which will give you the full cost of the move barring any major changes. We also have a non-binding estimate. A non-binding estimate is used when you are unsure of what you’re moving. Non-binding leaves options open, but there could be additional charges, if for example, the weight of your moved items is higher than you originally anticipated.
After we arrive and meet you, Suddath’s standard operating procedure during a move is to focus first on prepping your home to protect it and your items from damage. Our team will lay extensive floor protection – for example, cardboard, carpet shield or a neoprene-type rug runner. We will wrap banisters, and cover door jams to make sure doors aren’t chipped. We then wrap all furniture inside of your house before strategically loading it onto the truck, and do the same when we're at destination making delivery. Everything comes off the truck padded, is unwrapped and placed in your desired location, minimizing the possibility of damages.
