There should be some sense of urgency when you have a toddler with a head injury. But no — three hours later and we’re still waiting to be seen. Horrible ER.

Usually I've always had issues with the emergency department at the general but yesterday Thursday the 25th I went in with a head injury from a fall and I was evaluated CAT scanned and x-rayed for my injuries in record time. The staff was pleasant, definitely overworked and under staffed but took care of me quickly and efficiently and had me out of the hospital in under 3 hours thank you Wilkes-Barre General hospital emergency department job well done

Emergency room was fine , its the hospital thats horrific! The ER does the best they can do. I am sure they do not want to keep us there. I am sure they would like to relax with no patients. Be kind , they may be kind back.

In the ER there were homeless people emptying their catheter output into coffee cups and another washing their feet in the corner. There were covid positive individuals who remained unmasked though masks are required for ALL visitors. Someone vomited on the floor and it was not cleaned up until 8 hours later (yes I was there that long... longer). Aisha is the only friendly individual in registration. The triage nurse did not actively listen to the description of my symptoms and I was almost sent home when I actually needed emergency surgery. Spare yourself.
