It's a cute trail and observation deck gives you a view on the lake. You can watch the birds . In may it was infested with ticks. Crawling every where. Trail not well maintained

This was a great rustic trail, that despite not being well maintained, was an easy walk. This would be a great boy scouts project to trim back some of the overgrowth in spots and do some basic trail maintenance. It was worth the trip for the view of the water.

A gentle walk through various types of vegetation on a clearly marked and clear pathway. The walk leads to the Salt Springs Run overlook. Benches are provided to relax and enjoy the view. It's normally a quite and easy walk. The length is 2 miles. So grab your canteen of water and enjoy the natural beauty of Florida.

Dirt road and parking area, and kiosk of basic info. Narrow trail through the forest, and sometimes you brush against the plants. We had no issues with ticks that have been mentioned by others, but we walked this in December, so some cold nights had occurred prior. At far end of loop, there is an option to go to the boardwalk, which leads to views of the river formed by Salt Spring. We saw a manatee, mullet jumping, and some birds (blue heron, anahinga, catbird, woodpeckers, and heard kingfishers). Well marked entrance to trail and easy to follow.
