UNSAFE VEHICLES! DO NOT RENT Rented a 15 passenger van for a church trip. I have rented plenty of vehicles from reputable companies. And I have never seen as ridiculous a contract as Atlas provides- “vehicle must be returned in ready to rent condition”, up to a “$500 fine if it is not vacuumed out”. Must provide contact information for 3 relatives. She printed out my insurance policy and called the insurance company as well to verify. Excessive!! Then approximate 10mins walk around inspection process. They have all of these restrictive policies that are aimed at decreasing their expenses, but care less about customers safety. They expect the renters of these vehicles to get their vehicles ready for the next customers so that they don’t have to hire someone to inspect the vehicles. We only rented from this place because there were no 15 passenger vans available from a reputable place. We had small children and a handicap person. The first van we got in- the gear shift did not work!!- why did they not possible know this?! We were suspicious. But they apologized and acted as if this was an unusual situation. We were given another vehicle and we had to take off early the next morning on Saturday. Three seat belts didn’t work, air vent were falling out. Seal around the door was falling out. Seats were worn and the cruise control was lagging. We “jimmy rigged” the seat belt in the front seat so that we could go. We returned the vehicle and informed them of all the problems and how disappointed and unsafe the vehicle was. They offered 10% off our next rental. Next rental! Never again. We asked to receive a call from Laney(owner/manager). Instead received a call from a lady who aggressively insisted that she was just going to give us 10% off of this rental. That’s all she was going to do. They do not care about safety of their customers. They only care about reducing the bottom line and maximizing their business.
