My dad had a cataract eye surgery today at this center and I'm upset about what we had to go through. We were told to wait for a call to know about the time of surgery but never received one. They said to call the day before at between 2-5pm if we don't get a call from them but they were closed because of the MLK day. So I had to call this morning, which was the day of surgery, to ask about the time. The receptionist then answered and said "should arrive at 10:30". So basically we were informed about the time only 2 and a half hour prior to the surgery and we were able to know only because I took action and called . We got there and were escorted to where the recovery/preparation beds are. Unfortunately, we had to be with a rude nurse who was very coercive. It almost felt like she was giving my dad verbal orders as if in the military. It hurts to see my dad treated like that, he was just a patient with a bad eye condition and you don't treat a patient who's about to have a surgery like that. Calling him "buddy" even though my dad is 66 and she looked like she was in the 40s. She didn't say that in a nice or friendly way so I thought that was odd. Almost felt like he was treated like an animal. Also, she couldn't stick an IV needle in a first few tries and kept sighing and yelled "it moves!!" (the vein) as if it was my dad's fault that the veins are moving. She handed a phone directly to my dad's hand coercively without explaining what it was for. She kept touching and trying to lift my dad's still/relaxed hand (he was laying down) with the phone. My dad clearly didn't know what it was for and what she was trying to do but she kept doing that coercively. It was for the translation and she could've told me what it was since I was there for the translation as well. And I heard her pronouncing my dad's last name "Chow". My dad's last name is "Choi". My poor dad who's always nice and friendly but not fluent in English said "Thank you" to her just to be ignored with her silence, she was just too cold and rude. I wonder if we are even considered human being to some of the healthcare workers. Or are we just the daily tasks that they want to cross off the list. It was heartbreaking to see my dad being treated poorly today. He couldn't understand or speak English but I'm pretty sure he noticed the nurse's disrespectful attitude towards him. The doctor seemed nice so I hope his eye surgery went well and will heal good. But I have no respect left for Emory and will try to avoid this place in the future.

This is the absolute worst place to have a colonoscopy or EDG. The front desk staff is rude. My wife and I took eight hours off work and I endured 36 hours of great fun with the bowel prep. I have service dog, professionally trained European Boxer. He was prescribed by my Emory PCP. I was assured the Gen. Patton, my service dog, and my wife would be able to go back after my procedure because of the massive amount of anxiety coming out of anaesthesia. Upon arrival, one and a half hours away, I was told the service animal could not come back. I have been to Emory midtown and Emory University for surgical procedures where my service dog was allowed in pre-op and PACU. Instead of practicing professional communication the director of the clinic came out into the waiting room with other patients around me to explain to me the risk of having a service animal in a non-sterile pre-op environment. She stated that if someone is allergic to a dog they may have complications after surgery. Why is it that mental health is never quiet as important as physical health. My wife has been a critical care nurse for 29 years anaphylaxis shock is one of the easiest things to treat. So the excuse that the lady has given was not realistic. Upon further research in peer reviewed journals it was noted that reaction to a service dog in a post-op environment was less than 05%. I will never use this memory facility ever again and I will never recommend this facility to anybody else who desires a quality environment where privacy and medical care are respected.

Outstanding! Dr Eskreis, Dr Weinberg, Kelly, Mary, Rossane and Erika were amazing. The clinic is well staffed, and from the beginning to end, the procedure was great.
