Beware - If you donate blood here you will receive robo calls a few times a week, from a variety of different numbers, asking you to donate again. I'm not sure how to get them to stop, but they've been doing it for well over a year. Calling someone back once every couple months would be reasonable. Calling multiple times a week is not. I will not be donating blood here again.

I've been donating blood here for two decades now. The staff has always been welcoming and personable, and for a good long while (before the change from Bonfils to Vitalant), had a low turnover, which was nice. My only other minor "complaint" is that, since the switch, they also seem to no longer take walk-ins.

The new Stephanie is an awesome phlebotomist and tells the best jokes! Great experience donating whole blood, thanks to the whole vitalant staff!

I would love if Vitalant could open another location near Boulder. The staff here always seem SWAMPED with donors. Every time I've gone in the past year, I've made an appointment, but end up waiting at least an hour past my appointment time to donate. They still prioritize whoever walked in the door first, so that defeats the purpose of appointments. Staff aren't able to look at you, talk to you, or acknowledge you because they're so busy. It makes it a really uncomfortable and unwelcoming experience. I usually leave feeling like I've inconvenienced them, even though I'm supposedly doing a good thing by donating (especially considering the number of phone calls I get from Vitalant telling me to donate again!). But the other closest donation site is over 30 minutes drive away. I've tried going at different times of day, during the middle of the workweek, etc, and it's still just really long wait times and that sense of being unwelcome.

Yes they are open on Saturdays
Selling plasma is done through private pharmacutical companies. This is a donation center so you would be giving it for free to save a life instead of development of drugs.
