Mary Kay was an angel, I can’t tell you how supportive she was as I transitioned my mother’s car title.

Boulder County Clerk & Recorders Office is supposed to be a government entity to serve The People, which they are not… serving The People. Like a private business they chose to only be available to The Public four days a week.

Brendan was fantastic! I purchased a car with an Oregon title, and Brendan helped me get the title transferred and the car registered in no time. I actually brought an insurance document that didn't work for my "proof of insurance", but he kept the tab open for me on his computer while I sat in the waiting area for a few minutes so I could get there proper document, without having to go back through the entire queue. Very much appreciated his helpfulness!

Driver's License is located at: 2850 Iris Ave Boulder CO
Hi Reed - You have 60 days from the date of purchase to register your RV. If you purchased the RV from a private party and do not have a temporary permit, you will need to register it ASAP if you plan to drive it. (Without a temp. permit, you can only legally drive it from the place where you purchased it to where you are storing it.) If you purchased it from a dealership and they gave you a temporary permit, you have until the expiration of the permit (usually 60 days) to get it registered. In either case, you will likely need to visit one of our three branch locations (Boulder, Lafayette, or Longmont) to register your RV (unless you bought it from a dealership and they mailed all of the paperwork directly to us). To avoid a potentially long wait time, we recommend that you make a registration appt on our website: www,BoulderCounty.org/MotorVehicle. Before your appt, please check our Vehicle Registration page to make sure you have all of the items you need to register your RV.
Go to DMV
Current wait times are actually very short, no need for an appointment. It should be around 15 mins if you walk in. You’ll need to bring your title and insurance, if it’s financed that’s a bit of a process but they’ll help you.
Best to do down there in person. Better yet...go to the Lafayette Branch on Miner St. They are not busy
Unfortunately, google listings have to managed very individually (human has to update every listing). We cannot update the hours on google when there is an emergency closure due to a snow storm. Sorry for the inconvenience. Always check our website or regular news when in doubt when the weather is bad. The county closes from guidance from the Sherriff's office.
County DMV offices only deal with vehicle registration and title services. Visit the Iris office, which is run by the state or see their website for online replacement options: https://dmv.colorado.gov/drivers
https://www.bouldercounty.org/records/motor-vehicle/buying-and-selling-a-vehicle/#bill-of-sale-buyer
You can walk in, but you will likely face a longer wait times, especially during the last few / first few days of the month. If you need to come in person, our Lafayette and sometimesLongmont offices typically (but not always) have shorter wait times. And depending on your purchase circumstances, you might be able to actually complete this online. Check out this page for more info: https://www.bouldercounty.org/records/motor-vehicle/vehicle-registrations/recently-purchased-vehicles/
You can order replacement tabs online: https://mydmv.colorado.gov/?Link=ReplaceTabs
If you mean a driver's license permit, no. That is handled directly by the state office. See https://mydmv.colorado.gov/
There is no way to get just a month tab online. Call the Motor Vehicle and they can mail one to you. You can also walk-in, but maybe ask the Information Desk or greeter for a month sticker before waiting in line.
The license office is at 2850 Iris Ave F, Boulder, CO 80301. What you listed above is the county clerk's office. They don't handle licenses at the clerk's office.
Please check out the website for general guidance and give our office a ring for specifics: https://www.bouldercounty.org/records/motor-vehicle/buying-and-selling-a-vehicle/ 303-413-7710
Hi Sharon, We wouldn't advise you to do that. If you expire in February, you have until the end of March to renew (grace month). However, if you are driving out of state, we do recommend you renew in Feb as not all states honor our grace month. I was informed the Feb renewal cards were mailed late by the state. That said, the best way to find out if you need emissions is to quickly fill out the contact us form with all your info and question and someone can look up and email you back. Here is a link to the contact us: https://www.bouldercounty.org/records/motor-vehicle/online-contact-form/
To the offices listed on the website: www.BoulderCounty.org/MV
You should call the office. Typically plates stay with the car: 303-413-7710
You will only be mailed a title complete notice if the paperwork was sent directly to the Motor Vehicle office (usually mailed in by a dealer or lienholder). Sounds like the dealer gave you all the original paperwork vs. mailing it in, so the notice is not needed in your situation.
Hi Christopher - You can find a link to a list of third parties that are conducting drive tests on the state's Division of Motor Vehicles website here: https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/adult-license Please note that our office only handles vehicle titling and registration, not driver's licenses. If you have additional questions, you can call the Boulder Driver License office at (303) 442-3006.
Hi China - You'll want to check the State's website, https://mydmv.colorado.gov/ for that answer. In most Colorado counties, the county MV offices handle vehicle registration only (that is this locations on 33rd St) and the state office handles driver licenses. That location is on Iris.
I apologize if you have not been able to get through our phones. I also know emails are backed up, as staff has been working over weekends to get through them. If your temp tags don't expire until Aug, please give staff some time to respond. We are always busiest at the end/beginning of the month and it is the 1st of July. Alternatively, we are open for walk-ins, though I would recommend waiting to come in as the beginning of the month is always busy.
You'll need to bring in your title and also a lien release letter stating the lienholder no longer has interest in the vehicle. It costs $7.20. If needed, call or email Motor Vehicle for lien release letter requirements.
When I went on Thursday, appointments were being prioritized.
You'll need to call our office to discuss what steps can be taken: 303-413-7710
This question is a bit vague regarding ownership, thus give us a call at 303-413-7710 between 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Mon-Fri to discuss your situation.
Hi Judy - If your plates expire in November, you have plenty of time (there is a grace month - unless you are traveling out of state). And there is no need to wait for your postcard. You can go online to renew at https://mydmv.colorado.gov/ or call our office and get the information you need to mail it back: 303-413-7710
Yes
Visit https://mydmv.colorado.gov - Make sure your address is current before renewing! You can also call Motor Vehicle to find out how much you owe and where to mail in payment.
https://www.bouldercounty.org/records/motor-vehicle/new-resident-registration/
No. You cannot get a replacement online. You will need to go to the Driver's License office off Iris between 30th and 28th (not the office where you are asking this question). Check their website to determine what forms of ID you will need to take with you.
Either come in person for a replacement, $4.17; or, visit https://mydmv.colorado.gov to "Replace Tags"
You can renew online - https://mydmv.colorado.gov. Initial registration has to be in person, but you make an appointment with Boulder County and shorten the wait - www.bouldercounty.org/mv
No. You will have to apply for a new birth certificate.
