Went in to buy some parts for my MR2. Parts counter woman told me I need my VIN number or she couldn't sell me parts. I told her exactly what I needed and for what car, a 2001 MR2 with a 1ZZ Corolla engine essentially. MR2s of that era had no options, at least not important drivetrain ones besides the SMT. Knew I would be in for a rough conversation when she promptly and confidently told me an MR2 is not a Toyota. I was a little worried at this point. I might be buying parts for a Rolls Royce MR2 evidently. After some back and forth, she got another guy in the back who said one of the other employees actually owns an MR2... Go figure. Got some of the parts I needed and gave up on the rest. Just going to buy online and save myself the headache next time. God forbid if someone comes in with an engine swapped car and has to argue why they need something the VIN is not showing.

My husband and I were shopping around the area for a new vehicle and realized that many dealers had markup fees, on top of the MSRP price of the vehicle, that was overinflated due to the shortage of vehicles, specially the particular popular model we intended on purchasing. However, Fitzgerald Toyota did not rob us with absurd markup fees. We were attended by Steven Yang that provided excellent customer service; he informed us of the shortage of vehicles in during the pandemic and informed us about the current status of the specific model we are interested in purchasing and being honest about the process, such as anticipated wait time from reservation to purchase. In addition, he is very knowledgeable about the vehicles and answered all our questions about features to help us make an informed decision. In the end, he went above and beyond and reached out when one became available and was able to purchase our new vehicle in a shorter period than anticipated.
