I booked this one sight unseen and expected the experience I see in the reviews. They are short staffed maybe call ahead if you cant check in during business hours. I have a few bad hotel experiences to compare this one to however if you are by yourself and need a place to rest it serves the purpose. The AC works well and they were generous with the towels and amenities I did not have to ask for extra (extra cost justified.) Walls are thin "you will hear everyone" and experience will vary. Not the best option if you are needing a big tv or in room phone. This place does not have carpet but instead linoleum tiles. Their shower at least in my room was better than some older 4 star hotels.

No stars, for anything. This was the worst hotel ever. Avoid at all costs. I was in Fredericksburg for a wedding. There was no one there when I arrived, it looked like it had been abandoned with not one car in parking lot, and no lights on. I went in and a sign on the desk said 'be back in 20 minutes'. I called a 800# and they said they would text the clerk to come back. then I was told that once the clerk left at 10 pm no one would be there and the doors would be unlocked all night. The room was half painted due to renovations. There was no breakfast. NO machines, there was a bowl of candy on the desk. Lights weren't even on when I arrived after 7 pm. Then after I called Hotels.com and the hotel failed to respond to their numerous attempts to reach them by phone/email, the lights magically came on inside the lobby. I felt unsafe and fearful. I cut my trip short because they had already charged my card for two nights and I had no money to go anywhere else. Very disappointed.

I didn't get to the room until 11pm. I have now waited in the lobby for over an hour. There is no employ on staff and the emergency number goes to a cell phone that was left on the patio area with a pack of cigarettes. Don't waste your money looks like I get to pay to sleep in the parking lot.

I am giving 5 stars because this place is definitely homey if that is what you are looking for. I'm sorry for the folks who expect a Hilton or Marriott like you do in bigger metropolitan areas. Everything was completely comfortable. This is an older building with lovely remodeling so you will hear the pipes knocking. Be not afraid. Water pressure of the shower felt great! I even like the way the soap felt and smelled. Everything was clean and did not have the typical hotel room smell. Nice to come back to from hiking around on Enchanted Rock. They did not have a microwave or mini fridge like they have in other hotel chains. Be prepared if you want those types of comforts. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I will definitely book here again soon. 🐱
