So. The first time I ate here for brunch about a month ago I got the biscuits and gravy and was disappointed - I have been vegan for a little over a year now and do my best to lead a healthy lifestyle. Therefore I love Zest's approach to food, so my disappointment may have been misplaced. When I ordered the biscuits and gravy I was hoping for a biscuit that was somewhat close to a normal, non-vegan biscuit: buttery and flaky. That was not the case with theirs, and their gravy had a taste that reminded me of Indian cuisine (which I love, it just wasn't what I was expecting). So I didn't think I'd be back but flash forward to 7.24.22 when I decided to give this place another try for another brunch w/ pals and order something different; and HOLY COW I'm glad I came back! I got the Hazelnut pancakes w/ BASIL maple syrup and I decided from the moment I tried that basil syrup it was the new love of my life (the pancakes alone were close second). Bonus points: the atmosphere of the place is very welcoming and the both times I've been the servers were lovely :). Moral of the story: give Zest a try! Just keep in mind their healthier approach to food when you order certain items you ate a lot as a non-vegan and you can avoid an experience like my first visit here. Thanks Zest! <3

Food was yummy. Carrot cake was amazing! The drinks were super good. 5 stars for that The customer service has much to be desired. Maybe because we arrived after 2pm and the lunch rush was over. Only one person waiting on the tables. It was not busy, so that makes sense. But the greeting person, the waitress, and one more would be on the phone or in the back sitting and chatting while we waited to order drinks and then to get the cake… and then again we had to go to the back to call an individual in so we can get the bill and check out. I presume they do better with more crowds in. We chose to go later to avoid the traffic but actually spent longer given the inadequate attention devoted to the patrons. I will go again. Definitely. But when it is busier. I’d hope the customer service is different then.

This place was a life saver for my husband and I when we visited Salt Lake back in September for FanX. We have extensive food allergies, many of which for me is meat, so finding a vegan restaurant with delicious food as Zest Kitchen and Bar was a miracle. They have a lovely atmosphere, nice decor and friendly staff. But the best part of all was their food. Now, I haven't had the honor of trying many vegan restaurants since I mostly cook for myself at home, but this place has some of the most mouth-watering and crave-tastic food. I think we tried almost half the menu and there wasn't a thing we didn't enjoy. So if you're in the Salt Lake area and looking for some vegan food or just great food in general, hit this place up!

Zest gets 4 stars for their hospitality and dog patio! The food is good but I wouldn’t necessarily say delicious. Some of the food is bland and most of it is gluten-free making the food taste gluten-free, overpowering the flavors. We had the Cuban breakfast, stuffed mushrooms, biscuits & gravy, the pancakes, and the straw-bubbly lavender martini. All from their brunch menu. The stuffed mushrooms and the martini were the best from the order. I love pancakes but I would not recommend these at all. Overall, we will come back to try other food items. Maybe we just ordered the wrong ones.

I was there in the morning, so I didn't see any dancing. LOL! They have a hot whiskey drink that has peach juice and a cinnamon stick in it. Try that. It'll get you in the dancing mood. Call and ask if there's dancing. Why oh why can't you have a location in Columbus Ohio?
They're amazing and kind. They sanitize, everybody wears masks. Once you're seated you can take yours off. When they're waiting on you they keep a respectable distance. They don't use physical menus, you scan a QR Code and get the menu on your smart phone. There's hand sanitizer in high traffic areas.
