My overall grade for The Original Pancake House is: A If you've been to other locations, you will be very happy to notice that the experience, menu and great service are all very similar. Their pancake recipe is very consistent and their bacon tastes exactly like other locations. Of course - this place is for breakfast lovers. If you're looking for salads or sandwiches, etc., you'll probably have to look elsewhere. But for those that have read some of my other reviews, you know I'm a breakfast at anytime of day kind of guy. Their orange juice is fresh-squeezed and delicious. Coffee is good. Their consistency is just top-notch and the quality of the food is great. Our server was especially great, except that I forget the name. We will be moving to Utah next year and will return in the future - great place for breakfast!

Delicious biscuits and gravy but very undercooked hash browns. The waffle was a bit undercooked as well. I am very supportive of reducing plastic use but, on this particular trip, I didn’t have any utensils with me so an option to add utensils when placing a pick up order would have been appreciated. Ketchup would have been appreciated as well. I understand that this location is often very busy but treating each customer like you want them to come back not just get out the door should be a priority if you want return customers. I will come back again but hopefully will have a better experience or there is no reason to justify the long wait times with several other options close by.

Super disappointed. We used to love this place but did not have a good experience this morning. In their defense, they were super busy. But here’s why we won’t go back. Our name was called. We were patiently waiting and the hostess took two people that were called after us. I was standing in the front of the line and am a little baffled why she ignored me. The waitress was nice, but she didn’t come refill or check in on us until we were done eating. It took about 45 minutes to get our food, which we expected since they were busier. But the coffee was hot water, pancakes were raw, and everything was lacking in flavor. They are known for their buttermilk pancakes- which is why we ordered them. My not picky 12 year old took two bites and said he was full. I tried them and was shocked at how sweet and yet still bland they were. Also got the sourdough pancakes which were raw, biscuits and gravy which was decent, and sides of eggs and hash browns. The hash browns were extremely undercooked. On their menu they state that because of “demand” and price increases they no longer serve hash browns with the meals. You have to pay extra. Only they didn’t lower the cost of the plates and you’re paying a large amount for a small portion. Just overall disappointed with the experience. My kid will eat anywhere and he even said he wouldn’t go back.

One of the best place to have breakfast in Salt Lake City. I like the taste of food and service here. They have arranged separate room for us, as we are 14 people. The pan cakes are awesome. Also the omelets are heavy and tasty. It will completely fulfill your morning hunger. The coffee is nice. In all great place, a must try.

Yes! You absolutely can! Just stop into their location, as I'm not sure it can be purchased online. I think Smith's grocery might also have a gift card available for OPH. Hope this helps! :)
