We made a quick stop on our way to Torrey and enjoyed the interpretive signage and Petrified Forest Cove. We'd like to return to do the loop trails when it's not in the heat of the day.

I highly recommend not going if it is even remotely hot out as there is absolutely no shade. The first/last part of the hike can be difficult if you're not used to uneven trails, don't have proper hiking shoes, or don't enjoy inclines and declines. If you are going for the petrified wood you very well may be disappointed. I went after hours so there was no guide. There were no information signs along the trails so you had to guess what was petrified wood and what was just regular rocks and boulders. There were maybe 4 spots you could know 100% what you were looking at. If there were signs, maps, pamphlets or any type of information to access after hours it would have made it a lot more enjoyable. I just couldn't tell what was what, and i found myself guessing and making assumptions. (I still paid even though it was after hours)

Campground is ok but overpriced for no hookups at $29/night. Showers aren’t very clean but at least the water was hot. Spaces for your vehicles are very small and not great for large rigs. We have 22ft class B so it worked nicely for us. Staff is very friendly and the reservoir is very pretty.

We took a brisk hike to get to the top and see "the petrified forest" and there were only 4 or 5. It would have been nice to know at marker 7, we turn left and go 300 ft vs another half mile around the loop. We didn't stop much, and it was a strong hike in 47 minutes. Young kids can make it, but don't bring strollers or wheelchair.

If I recall correctly, it's about a 15 or 20 minute drive from the center of Escalante. Too far to walk, but not a long drive. You will turn off the main road and drive past a few farms to get there. The speed limit on the farm road is quite slow (because who wants to hit a cow or a kid), but it's a beautiful place to visit.
Yes they are allowed as long as they are leashed and cleaned up after
Yes, you can. There is a small fee. There are also bathrooms near the parking lot.
They had an SSID broadcast, but when attempting to connect, it either failed or if connected was unable to get internet. That was my experience. My T-Mobile sevice was just okay there.
Escalante is rather large but this may help. https://canyoncountrylodge.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/devils-garden-min.jpg
No. The reservoir isn't really big enough for boating. You can rent smaller things like kayaks and stand up paddle boards
Yes, there is camping with fee
