Just experienced an act of discrimination from one of the team member at this location. I was quietly exploring their products. I also go through the list of ingredients on every product I buy. On some of the products you have to peel the back to see the list of ingredients. I took one of the TESTERS to peel it off to see what Im buying. One of the member staff told me I can’t do that l. I asked her why ? She said “just look ! Don’t peel anything” ( once again we were talking about the tester) I explained her I wanna see the list of ingredients, I need yo peel it “ IT SAYS PEEL ME TO SEE THE LIST INGREDIENTS” and this is the tester, she was like “ JUST SPRAY ON YOURSELVES, IM NOT ALLOWING YOU TO PEEL” and something if I give a hard time she would do something ( I didn’t catch that part) at that moment I left everything I was holding in my hands to buy on the counter and left the store. It’s terrible experience. From the moment you enter the store - they hate you. Awful Attitude.

I love the Body Shop and I’ve been a customer for 25 years, but I won’t return to this particular franchise, choosing instead to go to Rockefeller Center, because of the way I was treated today (3pm on Sunday September 4 2022) by the saleswoman there (possibly a manager? She seemed to be instructing two other staff persons, so I got the sense she was in charge). Right from the start, she addressed me in a cold, contemptuous tone. I opened a tester of face cream and tried it, and she yelled at me, ice-cold: “Ma’am. PLEASE don’t touch the testers without a popsicle stick!” I looked for the sticks and they were nowhere on the display. I felt embarrassed and stupid. I decided to keep shopping anyway. I filled my basket with items. Bath bombs, body butter, and a lovely mask I’ve wanted for the longest. Then I went to the register. Miss Friendly rang me up, and as I reached into my purse to pay with the bills I had set aside for this special trip, she curtly informed me that they don’t take cash. Since when? I thought that the Body Shop took cash. I don’t use cards for little luxuries and so I had to leave the store empty handed. She scoffed at me. I’ll never go back.

The store is very clean and organized. The sales representatives were very helpful and pleasant.
