Cabin is clean, bath towels were provided but limited. I advise brining a towel and washcloth for yourself, as well as a roll of paper towels. No pizza cutter. Great little cabin for us. PS, check-in is at the camping registration building near where you get firewood.

Great experience. Kitchen, fridge and freezer, air and heat. Wi-Fi great location. We even saw a bear.

It turned out to be too long of a day to make the trip back to the Twin Cities comfortable and the draw of nature and the remote quirt of Bert’s Cabins was just what I needed. I had number 11 this time – all to myself and slept 10 hours straight on a very comfortable mattress. During each stay over the years, the cabins are clean, nicely designed, and well-spaced for a sense of privacy. The full kitchen was well-prepared for guests with plates, flatware, coffee, and a coffee pot, as well as excellent cooking utensils. Each cabin has a fire pit nearby and a picnic table for outside meals. Signs were posted to not leave food out. It was a reminder that the bear and raccoons are the permanent residents. Trash bins are neat and close tightly, which was a good idea as there were grunting sounds outside in that direction during the night. Very pleasant accommodations in the midst of some of Minnesota’s most beautifully forestry. Ask someone if you cannot find where to register. I was grateful that my cabin neighbors pointed me in the right direction. They could definitely use more signs for the registration office. But really, all other areas are nicely marked, which is helpful because the whole of Itasca Park covers a large area. Every time I see the MN Mississippi headwaters I feel amazed by the experience. It’s such a powerful statement that powerful things start small.

Great cabin experience! By other cabins but far enough from eachother to experience the outdoors just as a family. Indoor amenities right in the middle of the woods. Good alternative to camping for those who want to stay out of the elements. Definitely would recommend!
