Great variety of produce and baked goods. Only place where you can find the pawpaw fruit when in season (Rabbits run farm stand). Not very crowded. And excellent tamales at the entrance

Great Greenmarket— Everyone is very local and you can even get compost. Rabit Run Farm is the best and I’ve been buying from them for close to two decades. If you use an EBT card here and you get $10 match in vegetable/Fruit certificates. These are really great when edible plants are being sold.

Love the fresh fruits and vegetables stands. Good seafood and natural meat. My favorite is the guy that sells the homemade granola, bread and pies. Wish it had more participants.

Yes and on the website there is this : "EBT users -- for every $5 spent in EBT, customers receive a $2 Health Buck coupon to purchase additional fruits and vegetables." so if you're using EBT it would definitely be worth it. The prices are good. You're getting fresh, local food and helping support local farms plus they say they're giving you bucks to buy more foods. I have been going here for years. It's wonderful. Sadly, we don't have much on staten island and the fresh farmer boxes go other places and there's no more door to door organics.
I have bought over the times there many different foods and baked goods. The produce is more in the warmer months at St. George when there's more vendors also. There's plenty of types of tomatoes usually available, at least there has been I the past. I heard that one of the vendors that I had liked going to was possibly not going to be at St. George's, but there also is the farmer's market up at the mall. Either one, I don't know an address for.
I don't think I saw any.
It is actually from farms. Not sure about certification, but at least some of the stands are basically organic.
The NYC Greenmarket organization, I would guess. They are currently looking for a manager for the St. George market, but there is someone official there every week. You might start by going and talking to them.
Hi! We are currently practicing strict COVID-19 safety protocols at all GrowNYC Greenmarkets. We ask that all shoppers/visitors: • Be Kind • Wear a face covering while in the market. • Mind the farmer lines and stay 6-feet apart. • Do not touch the products, farmers will handle it for you. • Keep your market trip as short as possible and do not linger in the market. • Limit your shopping party to 1-2 people. • Please leave your dog(s) with a family member outside the market or at home. • Bikers should lock their bike outside of the market. Visit grownyc.org/covid19 for info on pre-order and delivery options. Have a happy, safe, and healthy market trip!
Hi Deborah! As we are observing strict COVID-19 social distancing protocols in the market, it is preferred that you leave your pet at home or with someone outside of the market. When these measures are not in place, our markets are very pet friendly!
