Just like another person commented, I was refused to be seen, due to recently being put on Medicaid - Upon approaching the front desk in Westlake, to check in and give the rude desk attendant my insurance card, she looked at me like I’d handed her a useless piece of paper. I mentioned that if not covered, I would be able to pay for the HS shots I needed. She then called someone in billing, and told me I would not be able to be seen and that I would have to call the number on back of my card, with no directions (mind you, HS is a time and stress sensitive disease, and it will only get worse the more you wait). I walked out to my car, cried, and drove an hour and 15 mins back home in pain. I have been an HS patient of Dr. Hazen for 7 years now and have never been turned away when I was self pay - He has always told me to come in as soon as I can when I flareup, to try and get the shots needed to avoid the possibility of surgery. Now, my HS has flared to a point where I might need surgery and I’m not able to walk. Not only did I experience discrimination, but now I’m in immense pain and will have to pay for a procedure 3X more expensive than a simple shot. In the state of Ohio, Medicare patients can not self pay, but Medicaid can - they should have offered me the self pay election form, like many other providers would have, and have done for me. Extremely unhappy with this office after I’ve put my trust in them for several years.

My first visit to Dr. Styron was truly stress free. The receptionist and staff were very courteous and genuinely friendly. Dr Styron's exam was very thorough and she answered all of my questions thoughtfully. I would highly recommend Associates in Dermatology to all.

So rude I couldn't believe it. I couldn't even get past the operator she was such a b. You can only go for two things and then you have to make another appointment for more things so they can charge you for a second appointment. She was actually laughing at me on the phone. She shouldn't have that job. I'm so upset I'm crying right now.

Since my insurance does not pay for my procedure, I was told to pay $120 for 10 lesions to be sprayed off. The lesions did not come off, and they are asking for an additional $30 never discussed. Also, would have to keep paying for "attempts" at Actual removals. It's a really good scam they all have nowadays. Remember when doctors used to treat in 1 visit, takes these new ones 10 visits. But hey, that's business. $150 For Nothing.

I cannot answer the insurance question as I don't work for Associates in Dermatology. But their office is on Detroit Road in Westlake, between Canterbury and Dover Center Road.
