It's a beautiful building with lots of activities, friendly staff and a small café. It also have competitive sports and a branch of the Rivana Trail. The trainers are engaging, knowledgeable and are always concerned of the safety of each person. My only unpleasant experience has been with the aquatics coordinator, but I just have positive feedback for the rest of the staff and for the Y overall.

Very disappointed in the process to register for swim classes. The person that is responsible for registering individuals for the classes does not follow through with registering the student. Then the day the class is to begin the student shows up without a space to be in the class. Never given an apology for dropping the ball or I willing to place the child in a class. Rude and uncaring.

We visit many YMCA’s in our travels and this Y is exceptional. It’s active, very modern and well cared for, clean and has everything you could look for in a gym. The only thing we wish for is a whirlpool, this the four stars

The YMCA youth flag football really deteriorates in the last few years with their current athletic director. The AD made up rules during the seasons and don't follow their rule book. They talk about respect, but the Y staff has none. I know coaches and referees are fed up and left. I would leave 0 star if I can. My suggestion: do different youth sports elsewhere.

Childcare is included *if* your children are also members.
Limited hours though... like 9-3 or something along those lines. Call and ask if you plan to go early morning or in the mid afternoon or later
Yes, through our YMCA nationwide reciprocity program, your husband is welcome to use both the Brooks Family YMCA in Charlottesville and the Crozet YMCA in Crozet! The only stipulation is that if he uses the Charlottsville YMCA more than 50% of the time, the membership would need to be transferred to the Charlottesville Y. All he needs to do is use his current membership card and scan in at the front desk. Please let us know if you have any further questions!

The pool is grounded, so we do not close during a thunderstorm.

Active military can apply for a free family membership. There are some hoops to jump through but it might be worth it to try. Membership is free but you have to renew it every 6 months and you have to use the facility at least 8 times a month.
You can pay the daily rate, which is $15 for adult, $10 for youth/senior. Our membership rates are listed here: https://piedmontymca.org/cms-view-page.php?page=membershipnbsp. We also have financial assistance for all!
