Here at the behest of a friend who lost her father recently to cancer. During his last days, he had a medical emergency and despite being in Hospice of the Chesapeake's care, the family had to call 911 for medical attention due to negligence on the part of hospice. The family called the after-hours line more than 10 times before calling 911. My friend's father ultimately passed after being re-hospitalized, which is obviously not how the family wanted that to go down. Hospice of Chesapeake did an "investigation" without including the family. Ultimately, as a hospice organization they should have known better than to treat a very stressed and grieving family with such carelessness.

My Aunt Joan Rohrback was a patient here from August 17-20, 2021. I have never in my life felt the love and compassion from staff anywhere as I did at Hospice of the Chesapeake. If you ever have a family member that would need this type of care I highly recommend them. They were absolutely caring and so loving to my Aunt and our family and friends. ❤️

Capable and caring people at Hospice of Chesapeake. Our family couldn’t have had a better experience during my mother’s recent bout with COVID. We credit them with her near complete recovery!

Hospice of the Chesapeake is a non-profit. There are some Hospice companies that are for profit organizations.

Is this an actual facility where my mom can stay

We do have an inpatient care center on our campus in Pasadena, MD but it is only appropriate for patients who need a intensively level of care short term outside the normal hospice care. Most of our patients are cared for in their own or a family home or an assisted living center.
