I have been living at Shenandoah Valley Westminster Canterbury (SVWC) for close to three months. I made my decision after being on waiting lists for five other CCRCs from coast to coast. The reason for pulling the trigger to go with SVWC was their superb large salt water indoor swimming pool and 24 hour well equipped exercise room. Kathy and Donna have been my training instructors in these two facilities and kept me inspired since I’ve been here. Today, for the first time, I went to a yoga class taught by Elaine. I will definitely be going back to Elaine’s classes too. I had no idea before moving to SVWC they would have so many other programs that would catch my interest. Last evening I attended a program given by two residents in our main activity room about their recent volunteer work in Alaska for the Department of the Interior. Also, yesterday, I saw another resident’s private car collection of about 20 cars. One car was a Model T Ford and another was a race car that went 350 miles an hour. I have been invited to meals with friends in the main dining room, bar, Westminister Canterbury Café, or Bistro dining room nearly every night since being here. I could go on and on about why I am so pleased with SVWC’s Life Care Program, the diversity and knowledge of the residents, etc., etc. However, my suggestion to anyone reading this is to come for a visit. I guarantee that you won’t be disappointed. And, if it turns out that you are, SVWC gives you a 12 month guarantee that will return your money. You can’t go wrong. John Sterle, (A happy resident)

I visited today and was highly impressed by the cleanliness and professional of the staff! I got to speak with Kitty, the marketing specialist and she was very personable giving me some time to chat. Great community and even better people! Was visiting for offering our moving and removal services as and will definitely be referring my friends and family to this facility if needed! - Winston Davis, Sales/Marketing Manager | College Hunks Hauling Junk & Moving

I left voluntarily a few days ago to restart an endeavor I left behind over 3 years ago. When I was hired by Neville Samuda in July of 2016, I had no idea that i would be welcomed in the warmest way by such a caring staff and kind residents. In the last three years I have felt nothing but appreciated and at home. Erin Johnson is a fair and very capable supervisor. The current team in charge of the Bistro run a tight ship. Chefs Daniel Hahn and Farshad Farsheed and others in the kitchen have been an inspiration. I looked forward to their dishes. I made a lot of friends there at a tough time in my life. Some I believe will be enduring. To any naysayers, it is a great place to work and the residents are treated with care, dignity and respect. Just a nod to my friends Treaty, Kitty, Jacob, Brooke, Faith, Ethan, Paula, Nathan, Chelsea, Bob and countless others. A special thanks to Cindy Hunter. She's a Human Resources person with a kind heart. I will miss working there everyday. I would be honored to live in that facility if it were my time to make that choice.

Currently, we are undergoing construction of our kitchen and Bistro area. It would be best if you wait a couple months. But yes, you are welcome to dine here in our Bistro, Canterbury Dining Room (reservations required), Canterbury Café, or Morgan's Tavern. You would want to enter at #300, follow signage to Marketing and Lawrence Gallery. Thanks for your interest!
YES, this IS a non-smoking facility.
