Dr. Zachary Zimmer is not commendable and undermines the hard work of more admirable staff here. His hubris clouds effective communication and renders him insensitive to patient needs. He ineffectively explained his medical plan and the expected outcomes during visits I had. More importantly, he compromised my health goals and tailored his approach to one suiting him, not me, hammering his Hippocratic oath to meaningless naught. Zimmer’s consistent approach exuded vanity and an overgrown, unchecked ego. Moreover, my experience with him recently introduced me to hostility from a doctor no patient should ever experience when I merely contested his bulldogged manner, his willingness to have students or subordinates carry out his work, and his poor listening skills. To say he is high-handed is an understatement. He marches around spewing commands in a manner far from collegial. I have concern for the staff of this practice and their futures. Twice he failed to provide the requested X-ray imaging because he never fully worked on listening to me or because he was passively tight-gripped about it. Perhaps he feared I would shop elsewhere or thought smaller of me; the latter seems more likely given his lack of benevolence and the bias against me that I felt. Nonetheless, I asked again for my X-ray imaging, and in minutes his staff handed me a soon-to-be-discovered blank disc, which caused me to question his integrity and professionalism further! Mister Zimmer spends far too much time strutting for GW students and staff, and he neglects patient needs and care. The mark of a good doctor is their medical and interpersonal skills. I failed to see these skills function fully with Zimmer. Accordingly, I do not recommend this orthopedic practitioner or his practice. I would never consider him a trustworthy surgeon. I made that clear to him on my final visit to GW, which his lack of humility failed to see as possible. Departing the office, he sarcastically chittered “good luck" to me in the busy hallway of staffers and patients. This stunt demonstrated a nasty, infantile passive-aggressiveness. Medicine should never be about luck or bullying language; such truths are lost on him.

Good ortho docs, office staff not that great. I was the first one to sign in, arrived at 7:15 for a 7:45 appointment. I was "accidentally skipped over" by registration. I was also skipped over for x-rays. Both times I had to say something and advocate for myself. Had a 7:45 appointment and didn't see the doctor until 9:15. Doc seems pretty good. If you go here, be ready to speak up if they keep taking later check-ins and appointments ahead of you.
