Hi Ms. Parr, I admit, I am not. You would want to talk to an employment law attorney (which, alas, I am not). However, because it's a church, the rules can be a bit different, as there are special rules that operate in religious non-profits (I don't know exactly what they are, but I do know they exist). I would probably refer you out to one of my colleagues who handles employment law.
