Improvements are coming. Parking has always been an issue. They need to open it up a bit more and make it more of an attraction.

Incredibly beautiful, hidden northern Virginia gem.

Great place for a peaceful walk. We saw a HUGE buck. Our dog Finn loved all the sights and smells too!
Fredrick Ferguson
Great walk, great exercise. Wear pants for the trails.

Posted sign says no swimming. See the photos for a picture of the sign with the rules.
Hi Pagie. Thank you for reaching out. Swimming in the reservoir is not permitted for humans or domestic animals. The Reservoir is a drinking water source for Loudoun County and Loudoun Water is very strict on this policy as protection of the water source is a high priority. Allowing public swimming and domestic animals would introduce additional contaminants such as bodily fluids, body oils, lotions etc that can affect the water quality. I'm sorry that we cannot accommodate your request. For more information on Loudoun Water's Source Water Protection please visit: https://www.loudounwater.org/community/source-water-protection
Yes, if you're over 16 ( I think) you need a Virginia fishing licence. It has been stocked
Yes as long as you have a freshwater fishing license
Entering is free! And whether or not to bring the fish, I only know that it is there for sport, nothing more!
Î an not aware that motorized boats are allowed in the Beaverdam Reservoir. I am sure it's for non motorized crafts.
Not that I know of. But if you go to the Virginia DNR website they may have more information and you could probably email one of the biologists the same question.
No, there is a small launch area for personally-owned watercraft. You can rent kayaks at Riverbend Park on the Potomac.
Good morning Shanti. Yes, pets are allowed on the hiking trail if they are leashed and you must clean up after your pet. We hope you and your pet have a lovely day hiking!
There might be different sides to enter depending on where you want to go. When I went I parked on the side of street near Mt Hope Baptist Church. Make sure to wear waterproof shoes as the trail could be soggy and wet.

Hi Steve. The reservoir is still closed to water activities. Unfortunately, we still do not have an exact date for when the park will re-open. We will update the re-opening on both our Nova Parks website and Beaverdam Reservoir Facebook page as soon as we get a firm date. Thank you for your patience!
