Not impressed at all. Staff need custom service lessons/classes.

Hi, Joan. It must be heartbreaking to have to give up your cat. How old and what kind is he/she? What is its temperament? I am very interested in this type of rehoming situation.

Hello! Please give our shelter a call at (302) 516-1000. They will have details about any animal that came into our care! Alternatively, you can give the Office of Animal Welfare a call.
Brandywine Valley SPCA | Delaware - New Castle | Oct 20, 2019
Yes, we are a no-kill shelter. Winston and Willa have both been adopted, but our website (bvspca.org/adopt) lists all of our available animals, so keep an eye out there!

Does spca take guinea pigs because i have a Guinea pig that i became severely allergic to and can not care for him anymore and i called and the lady told me that they dont Guinea pigs is this true?
Renee's Rescues might be a better option in this case. They do fostering in personal homes and hand pick new families. Sounds like a better fit for a special needs pup.
My dog has a really bad rash , he’s a German shepherd we recently lost he’s papers , I was wondering if I can still take him like that ? He’s really bad at this point

Would have been nice if I'd known I needed an appointment before I drove all the way from the beachTo look at the dog I have seen on your website the last 3 days. I still dont see that I need an appointment? 😭
Zoe Ally Love | Oct 19, 2021
Dawn Wooldridge | Oct 19, 2021
I didn't have an appointment, they said it was walk-in open adoption.
Yes you can. I'm not sure of cost as I believe it's based on weight. They offer reasonable prices compared to vets. The best way to find out is to call.

They often have appts booked several weeks out, but if you don't mind a wait you can go in for a walk in appt. Then they just take your pet when they can that day.

Maybe something is wrong with their phone service. I never had a problem getting through.
Hello! We do frequently have puppies. Their price depends on size and age, but young puppies usually are about $400. This includes spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations, and a coupon for a free visit to one of our clinics!
Walk-ins start at 11am and end at 530pm. You are more than welcome to bring your pet for an emergency visit however when the doctor triages your pet if it's not a true medical emergency then you will have to wait which waiting times may vary.
Brandywine Valley SPCA | Delaware - New Castle | Oct 20, 2019
Hello! I hope you were able to get in to get your dog. We are often able to accommodate owner returns on the days we are closed, though we cannot guarantee it. We can guarantee being able to help you during our open hours.

Hello Colleen! Are you interested in adopting a specific dog? We do not transport dogs between locations for adoptions because it can be very stressful for them, and would be a drain on our resources. Our mission is to make our animal's time with us as comfortable as possible!
Brandywine Valley SPCA | Delaware - New Castle | Oct 20, 2019
Hello Ray! Our Dover shelter opens for stray holds in 1-2 months, and for adoptions in 4-6 months. Our Every Day Adoption Center at PetSmart closed in December.
Brandywine Valley SPCA | Delaware - New Castle | Oct 20, 2019
Hello Donald! Thank you for your interest in adopting! Our website (https://bvspca.org/adopt/) lists all of our animals currently available for adoption.
The basic wellness exam costs $35. I don't think they have any financial help "programs" The reduced fees on lab services, exams, exays, etc. are the "program". They do take walk-in appointments on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 12pm- 530pm for sure. I believe they expanded their days and hours of operation. From experience, if you take advantage of the walk in option, be there before they unlock the door! If you're the first person there, even if you're a walk in, you more than likely won't have much of a wait. A kitten as small as what you described can easily die from flea infestation if it's bad enough, so hopefully you can get the kitten help soon! If you aren't able to get the kitten the immediate care he needs, you can surrender it to the shelter at no cost. They are a no-kill shelter. They will accept the kitten, get the fleas dealt with, give the kitten his immunizations, microchip him, and spay/neuter it. Hope this helps!!
You should probably call them ahead of time to make sure they have enough room. It is not an open intake shelter so they only take in animals when they have the available space. Unless it is a stray that is injured, they do have to take in those.
My dog got lost, I did not know if they brought a small dog yesterday

Always go to the facility or call . they can sometimes help you over the phone but you're better off going in person to see for yourself If your animal is there.
