We love this park. We walk or bike to here because it's close to the house and the kids love feeding the fish and turtles, sandwich meat is the turtles favorite. We see snakes here from time to time, but we are looking for them. Almost every one has been a water snake, non-venomous so they are great to have around. We try to educate our children on the importance of all animals, even snakes, and how to react when you encounter a snake (identify and how to get away if necessary)

Great place to take the kids. Baseball games are always going on and next door is several tennis courts, basketball court, racquetball court, small playground, covered gazebo with picnic tables, and a small nature trail that leads to wooden boardwalk that connects to a covered gazebo overlooking a small pond that is filled with turtles and fish. Mostly 3 different turtle species have made this pond their home but every now and then you can get a glimpse of the large goldfish that swim in the very back away from the gazebo. The moss and algae that's covering the pond is the first time I've ever seen the pond covered in it and have been coming here for over 10 years. Usually the pond is clear which allows you to see many turtles, fish, and goldfish swim about. A fountain sits in the midst of the pond and helps filter the water whenever it is murky but this year (2016) a thick layer of algae, moss, and other water plants have created a barrier on top of the water preventing anyone from seeing anything that swims nearby. My son loves to feed them in the late afternoon and most turtles are used to seeing people who come to check them out. It's definitely something interesting and fun to do with little ones. Especially if visiting the park for a ball tournament, this area of the park is within walking distance from the ballfields. I recommend and this it is definitely worth checking out.

Questions & Answers

Why are you letting the fish and all the wildlife at the park pond die? I know they are renovating the park and upgrading but the pond has been drained and the fish and turtles have been left to suffocate.

Who do we get in touch with? We've been coming to this pond for a few years now. Its like all the wildlife is gone.
