We purchased our family headstone in advance and it was to be in place within a few months and inscribed once there was a death. Eight years later, we experienced a death and the headstone was never ordered. Staff refused to expediate our order and we have been told that the headstone would not be ready until February 2023. Our beloved passed away in April 2022. Otherwise, the grounds are not kept well at all. We are in the Frederick Douglas section and the property does not deserve to hold a name of such an esteemed individual. I would never encourage anyone to purchase here.

I planned on submitting this review earlier but every time I got my thoughts together, I would get upset. I can't believe that people who work at a cemetery could be so insensitive to people who are experiencing loss of a loved one. Some of the staff could use sensitivity training! Our initial meeting on April 29th went well to discuss the burial for my father which was pre-paid. The person assigned to us explained the process and what to except the day of the service on May 5th. We were told that the plaque for the mausoleum would take a few weeks. I called late June to check the status and was told it wasn't ready. My brother and I called several times to get updates. When we left messages, no one returned our calls and when we were lucky to speak to someone, we were told it wasn't ready and we would receive call when the plaque came in. The plaque finally went up on August 17th...... unbelievable. They need to consider using another vendor for a faster turn around time. To make matters worse, there is just a piece wood covering the space until the plaque was put up, which gave the wall an unfinished and tacky appearance. The treatment we received was unacceptable. Again, everything was pre-paid, so it wasn't that we owned a balance. It saddens me to know that I have to go deal with this lack of professionalism again when I have to bury my mother, as her mausoleum is also pre-paid. I can't begin to explain how disappointed she was with the staff while mourning the loss of her husband. We had all hoped and expected to be treated with more empathy. I now understand the low ratings......was hopeful that we would have had a better experience

I have to compliment the professionalism and dedication of the staff who assisted me today. The gentleman in the office took a great deal of time to explain thoroughly where my friend's grave could be found. He offered to have an employee take me there but I wanted to try to find it myself. As it turned out, the Superintendent, Jason, ultimately ended up assisting me in locating the foot stone. Despite 90+ degree heat, he worked on clearing and then cleaning up the stone. It looks great and is now much easier to spot. I so appreciate the time and attention spent. It is hard to put into words how much this has meant to me.

Several months my parents and I visited Cedar Hill because my parents wanted to be buried here. We signed the Contract and FORTUNATELY (and after reading so many horrible reviews after the fact and based on our experience with the salesperson) we returned 4 hours later and cancelled the Contract. Thank God for the 3-day Consumer Rights rule that allows consumers to cancel a contract within 3 days. I can only imagine, based on the reviews and our experience, we avoided one of the worse mistakes we could have made.

My grandfather purchased purchased several plots at Cedar Hill. 3 of the plots have been used and we have 3 that we have no use for. The plots were then passed to my parents who are buried in a Veteran's cemetery. How do I get rid of the 3 plots?
