I love to thrift shop. You can find many interesting things if you check in periodically. Unfortunately as with everything prices have gone up, so thrifting has changed in ways, but it’s always interesting.

The pricing here is ludicrous. Original retail price tags still on some items but Goodwill prices them higher, claiming they are priced at "fair market value." For example, $4.49 for an item with a Dollar Tree price tag (original price $1 or $1.25), or $12.99 with an original walmart tag that says $9.98. There are dozens of these ridiculously overpriced items throughout the store. I brought it to an employee's attention and the reply was: "oh, well someone will buy it for that price." Oh, well, that's a pathetic and shameful business practice. Aside from being severely overpriced, inventory is sparse and worn out, not much beyond broken and overly used junk. An employee told me the items are priced in and delivered from Frederick. They should keep their garbage in Frederick then and put the Eldersburg donations on the shelves. I've seen what people in my community are donating and its not this junk. On the 50% off or Dollar Days, staff remove all of the items with the designated color tags and hide them in the back. I've watched them do this multiple times! You'll be hard pressed to find a qualifying sale item after this sneaky stunt. This used to be the best Goodwill in central Md, but the changes over the past 2 years have ruined it. Also, as of the end of Sept 2022, they are still claiming Covid protocol as their excuse for not re-opening the fitting rooms. Who are they kidding? Such a shame because I had 9 years of great treasure hunts here. Wont be shopping here any more.

WAY overpriced! Things you could get at the dollar store marked waay too high. They get everything for free and charge more for it used than going to get it new. They are not what they use to be, its a shame greed gets to them all

Will goodwill come to my Home/APT to pick 3 rooms of Furniture No Longer Needed
Yes it's still open, it'll be moving to the space across the street eventually, but for now this location is still open.
They will unload your car. Only one car is pulled up at a time at a time. Everyone is masked up. They are doing everything to be careful as they can. I have gone there with things in plastic bags.
Yes
YES. They will, but, as we found out when we were moving, you must schedule it with them 4 - 6 weeks ahead. Also, if you choose to take it to them, they will help unload it, BUT ONLY from the outside of your vehicle. I rented a truck, and a with help of some neighbors, was finally able to get it into the truck (a bedroom set). They refused to come inside of the U-Haul truck to help get it out. As a disabled Senior, I had to wrestle the large pieces to the edge of the truck for them to actually take it into their store loading dock. The lesson i learned i, if I cannot schedule far enough ahead, I *WILL NOT* rent another truck to take it to them as a donation for them to profit from; rather, into the trash it will go. The Goodwill Store, in general, is a good operation. But, obviously, acceptance of donations depend on how much you will picked for them.
