My laptop suddenly died one day after I had shut the lid like I always do before going to bed. After opening the lid the next day, nothing happened, no lights on the keyboard, no change in status when I played with the power button. I thought there might be an issue either with the charging cable or with the internal laptop battery. After a friend tested the charging cable and found it low on voltage, I tried buying a new one but that also failed to work. I looked online, found Gadget Guru, and put trust in the reviews. They could not fix my laptop. I don't care, they were amazing. Gadget Guru's employees were understanding, human, and seriously brimming with communication through trying to save my computer. They tried everything they could to resurrect my laptop-now-turned-expensive-paperweight before we realized it was a fried motherboard. They offered service to fix and replace the motherboard for the price of the new part and installation, or freely given recommendations for a new computer entirely and what specs and brands fit my price range. I tried replacing the motherboard through them, since it was in the short term cheaper than a new laptop. In the end, this failed too, since the new part came fried also, and a different board was more expensive. So, for no more than the $50 for the initial cost of diagnosing and trying to fix the laptop, I got a clear answer on why my computer failed, and free advice for good options to replace it... AND an offer for FREE help getting any new computer up and running with data transfers through them if I came back within 30 days. TL;DR Gadget Guru knows their stuff, is passionate about helping, and has clear and friendly customer service. These guys were wonderful to work with. A+ 10/10 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Just renew basic free subscription for avast with your email. You can read through other options but they usually charge for upgrades.
As it seems you have multiple issues. We can not comfortably just quote a price on your repair. We feel it best to bring the laptop by so that we may see the extent of the damage, unless you know the exact parts that are broken along with the part numbers and the make and model. Other than that we suggest you have us diagnose it for $50.

Depending on the complexity of the laptop build a cleanout and rethermal could range between $60-120.
You may want to contact them directly via phone (I did when I had a question about a device I needed repaired). They may need you to bring it in for evaluation before pricing info can be given (fyi, I am not sure they will see/access questions posted here).
Gadget, broad/vague term for device.
They work on all types of gadgets. Call them with the issue and they can give you a rough estimate. When I took my cell phone in their estimate was pretty spot on.
They usually charge $50 to find out what the problem with a device is but that $50 is later put towards the final bill. Suggest giving them a call
