I got a digital Safeway gift card. I added it to my digital wallet, which was an automatic option when I opened the gift card. This Safeway says it is their policy to not accept digital gift cards, and they accused me of trying to be fraudulent. I have used the (valid) card at the location on Webster St. and in the Marina.

Bought a delicious BBQ chicken pizza there. I've long been a fan of chicken on pizza but I'd never had one from Safeway. It was very good. Also love perusing their half-price shelf in the back.

Convenient for downtown groceries but the area in general is questionable. I had my scooter stolen from out front when it was locked up despite a security guard on site. There were no security cameras on the outside of the building. Selection is typically limited but decent, but the general area is unsafe especially in the evening.
