Employees are trained to lie and tell you the mask mandate is due to the National Park Service regulations. This boat is not regulated by the NPS and is out of their jurisdiction. Neither the cost guard, county or any other agency requires masks on this vessel. Indeed, they are leveraging selling the masks when you board. Employees were harassing customers in line about not having their masks over their noses and so on and threatened to not let us board with a 2 year old who didn’t have a mask. I have no issue with public safety and CDC regulations but this one is bogus for the sake of profiting off selling masks which they sell to about 75% of the people who board.

Behind the Scenes tour of Alcatraz with guide Steve was excellent. Easily the best historical tour I’ve ever done. Super engaging and left wanting to learn more. Highly recommend! Worth the additional time and cost. Was phenomenal! He was wearing an actual original guard’s uniform! Left wanting to learn more! The history is so much more robust than just the story of the federal penitentiary .

The ferry ride takes about 10-15 minutes. You get great views of the island and the city. Alcatraz Island was a great experience and I highly recommend for anyone in the area. I was hoping more of the buildings with be available to tour but that may be an option on the more expensive ticket. Overall, it was very cool seeing this part of history. Plenty of information to take in during the audio tour of the cell house. Plenty of great views and pics too.

Very well done. The purchasing process was easy, there are signs and staff directing you where to go, the ride over the water was very enjoyable and pleasant. You get to see the city, the island, the Golden Gate Bridge and Bay bridge. There is food available to purchase on the boat, as well as seating and viewing platforms. The views are amazing and the time on Alcatraz was spectacular. Highly recommend.

The booking confirmation is all you need.
I suggest you either make your booking online or pay on arrival.
No
$40 per adult. You usually need to reserve in advance
Yes but try public transport which is great, if a little expensive.
Will someone answer this lady’s question? Please?
Thank you for your question! Information on parking around the area can be found here: https://www.alcatrazcruises.com/plan-your-trip/parking/
Yes, and there are no food and drinks vendors on the island. The last opportunity to buy any refreshments is on the boat over. However, unless you are planning a picnic on the island, you should be able to make it back to SF to eat from the short Alcatraz visit.
https://www.alcatraztickets.com/ it is possible I just tried. You're right, you have to book it now! 6 months before, we couldn't have night tickets!
Hello Ruby, Thank you for your question! Tickets are unavailable after May 8th, because we are still working with the National Park Service to confirm the schedule beyond that point. Tickets are not available for sale anywhere else, not even at our Ticketbooth, so there isn't a chance that tickets will sell out before being released. These tours are not cancelled, the tickets are currently unavailable. We do not have an exact estimate on when the tickets will be released. The best thing to do to be prepared to purchase tickets is to sign up for the notification on our homepage, as we will send an email to you as soon as possible once the tickets become available: https://www.alcatrazcruises.com/notification-request/ Kind Regards, Michael Badolato Alcatraz Cruises

Either book your tickets in the internet or directly at sf harbour pier 33
Yes it is. Don't know about the park.
No, parking is expensive near Fisherman's Wharf so plan ahead. It is approximately $10.00-$15.00/hour to parking in the nearby lots.
You could come back on the same boat, but why? The boat is just the bus to the island. Plan to stay and see the island. We stayed for over 4 hours.
I would suggest 30 minutes in advance. It gets very busy so you want to make sure you get your tickets and get in line for the ferry.
I believe so, times could vary though, depending on fog, rain, etc. I'm sorry I can't be more help!
