Alcatraz is a fascinating piece of history that is definitely worth seeing . The price of the cruise over includes entrance to the island and a guided individual audio tour through the prison with interesting facts and dramatic re-enactments. The only part we didn’t enjoy was the evidence of stinky seabirds the prison yard. They also have a garden with many interesting and original plants being preserved from the history of the islands use before and after it was a prison . Super cool .

We had a fantastic time on the Alcatraz night tour. Great views and the tour guide was phenomenal. A lot of history learned. Arrived 30 minutes prior to scheduled time as suggested on our ticket. Boarded boat 5:55 and returned 8:45pm. (We had an hour left to spare after our tour and had to wait a little bit. A 7:45 ending would have been enough time) Had a few hills to walk up to get there and a tram was available for those needing assistance. Once inside, you get devices to accompany you on your tour to direct you while walk through. For three people pricing is $ 145.20. Chilly at night - bring a coat. Neat experience. Great place for a haunted house we thought during our night tour. 😬 We would like to see the place restored more. That would be super cool.

Going back to revisit Alcatraz is never a dull experience. The history is so interesting and the cruise over was quick and great. I highly recommend taking this cruise. Bonus! The views from both the cruise and the island could be some of the best in the bay. You can see the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, and the surrounding bay and San Francisco city area all from taking this cruise. So worth it. Remember to bring a great camera.

Great attraction to put on your to do list. We were expecting a night tour, ya know darkness. but it was still a tour during the daylight, so no views of the city lights which the website stated. 🌞 The buildings are spectacular. The tour guide we were givin was a delight 😊. I love his attitude and the passion he has for his job.
