Amazing spot for a perfect picnic. 5 stars for view and location! Note you must pay entrance fee and America the Beautiful passes DO NOT WORK here. Confused? Us too. Apparently this spot isn’t run by the the National Forest even though that’s what the sign reads on the street. Some worker (not a ranger?) tried to mansplain that our America the Beautiful pass only works in National Parks, not National Forests. When I pulled out our card and the website stating it does, he wasn’t having it. We decided there are plenty of other places where we can use our pass so we packed up and he gave a snarky “have a nice day” as we left. 0 stars for friendly and helpful workers.
