Went here on a Thursday evening, not knowing really what to expect. It was definitely not what I was expecting! Food was delicious and good portions! The fish and chips was arguably the best in the bay area. At least, the best that I’ve had in the bay area. Service was good and the atmosphere was nice. They do have happy hour specials as well as weekend brunch specials. They also have live music on Thursday and Saturday nights.

The food was pretty good. Some of the wings were a little burned. I peeled the burnt skin off and ate the meat with the coconut curry sauce (which was really good). There was live music as well.

Our son picked this place to meet for dinner when we were visiting and boy was ita great choice! It was very lively, modern, open and chic as we walked up (see pictures) and it only got better from there. We initially ordered the Scotch Eggs and all thought they were great. We had a hard time deciding on the main course (so many great looking dishes to choose from), but I eventually settled on the UK Meatloaf (see picture). I'm not a huge meatloaf fan, but this was fabulous - so light, crumbly and delicious that I was sad when it was gone. If you do only one thing while here, do NOT leave without having The Yeoman Dessert (see picture). That sticky toffee pudding just might be the best dessert I've had ever and the rest were also delicious. Cask and Lion is pretty great, but it's not a 5-star in Tampa in my book. The atmosphere and menu is super fun and quirky British pub, but the place is functionally an all-American sports bar. Fantastic location if you're hungry and already wandering downtown. I'd come here with a group, especially people from work, or for a game or special occasion, but not for "dinner" with friends, and not with family/kids. The music was good (really good actually, for live music), but too loud to carry on an active conversation without being loud yourself. The menu is authentic-ish, and the prices are great for what you get. I had the shepherds pie, and it was tasty, just not anything to write home about. The 5-star item might be the sticky toffee pudding. Well worth a trip for drinks & dessert if that's your scene. The loaded brussel sprouts deserve a shout out too. Service was above average but not stellar (I ordered a drink that was never delivered, but there was a sincere apology to accompany the mistake). Overall it's a solid 4-star experience. With so many new and exceptional restaurants in Tampa it's hard to stand out these days.

The coconut curry sauce is for the wings but you can get a side of it for the chips. What's best with the chips is the Guinness gravy.
I was sitting in open air part of the bar so I walked in with a mask but took it off after being seated.

It depends on the weekend if course! But, you should be fine!! Enjoy!
