Fabulous Physical Therapy Department! I've recently started treatment at Barrow Brain and Spine in the Physical Therapy department in Ahwatukee. Brooks Tennyson, my Physical therapist is a knowledgable caring and compassionate health care provider. There are very few health care providers who take the time to listen, understand and ask if you have questions-Brooks is one of a kind. the treatments we are trying are individualized for me and include exercises, manipulation, traction and dry needling. The front office staff is friendly and helpful. Each time I've called, I've received a return phone call. Although I've only been visiting for two weeks, I highly recommend Barrow and specifically Brooks.

I have received 2 epidural from him. The first one much less painful than the last. Of course once he explained that he never sadates, only numbs with a local , I knew it would hurt. However I also expected some relief. The 2nd one was the one that got his bad review from me. First off I asked very point blank regarding my injury and procedure. He said we would go over it and to wait there and they would come get me. Once I was being prepared for the procedure I repeated my questions. He answered one question with another question and never answered any other questions. He talked to his staff about dancing the night before and he sang along with the radio. When he hurt me with his needles causing me to tighten up and whence in pain he threatened with every needle to stop if I didn't relax. He, for the most part seemed rude , rough and kind of arrogant. The funniest part was ,there was a model of a spine and disc's and he could have offered some explanation on or comfort about my procedure with this model. I called later that night and had a big part of my MRI and procedure explained by his on call. It was only a day ago but I'm hurting worse than I was before I arrived. No more , ever when I discussed this with my friend I told him I seriously don't think they like me there at his facility, And you certainly don't want to doubt or question Crisp he can't handle it.

If zero stars were an option, this would be my rating. Dr. Crisp has no regard for the well being of his patients or they pain that they suffer. My mother, who is 89 has been a patient. Dr. Crisp no longer wanted to help her so sent her to a pain management doctor. This was a nightmare experience because this doctor never answered the phone, and I could not schedule an appointment. I then called Dr Crisp's office at least 3 times leaving a message that my mother needed a new referral. Guess what??? No one answered his phone or ever called me back. When I finally called Dr Crisp office for a fourth time, I was told my message was received, but Dr Crisp had not gotten a chance to refer a doctor. Really??? A week passed and he could not refer my mom to a new doctor. I would be fired in my job if this happened. I had to find a doctor on my own. I am so saddened by the lack of respect and regard that Dr Crisp displayed to my mother....completely unacceptable behavior.
