AMAZING!!! I've donated at OneBlood in the Tampa area for about 20 years. I've always been impressed with the staff. But I now feel like I've been donating in a closet. LOL! This donor center is huuuuge! And the staff was all super nice. I had a ton of questions about platelets (I can't donate them but my husband can and wanted me to ask.) They were so patient and informative. I was sad to leave my donor center I've gone to for over two decades. I'll miss it but I already love this place. I highly recommend donating here.

Not impressed. The main staff were dismissive, the place was literally empty. Not one car in the lot. I went after a workout session and they did their routine vitals which is fine. However, my pulse was 108, they asked me to sit in the lobby and when they rechecked it was 106. I explained that I had just went to the gym, and being a nurse, I knew that having a patient change position such as sitting up, laying down, or standing will have dramatic differences in how the blood pressure and pulse will respond. Of course, I did not state “I’m a nurse blah blah blah” but they seemed to be fine with me leaving, guess blood donation is not nearly that important. I asked if any nurses were around and they dismissively said “No, we’re just phlebotomist.” Honestly, this was my first ever attempt at donating blood, and while I believe people who do donate blood are heroes without a doubt, this experience made me feel less than important. I will not return to One Blood or any of their buses to. It’s a shame considering my normal Hgb is nearly 17.8-18.1 and I’m sure someone could have used one or more of the by products. I could care less about the $20 e-gift card and a shirt, it’s a consolation prize. For red blood cells that take roughly 45-90 days to fully replenish. Oh and my expert advice from the phlebotomist was “try coming before you workout”. Maybe if you had more focus on PATIENT CENTERED CARE instead of the next wall decorations you would have a better turnout. However, the two star review comes from the fact that the place looked clean and was playing the cooking channel which is a favorite of mine. Just disappointing because I have been against donation up until recently and my very first attempt I was turned away from a HR about 100? My blood pressure was well within parameters, the color of my skin was wonderfully pink. Maybe a nurse should be included in client determination, this appears wasteful in hindsight. I digress, sorry One Blood, for that reason, IM OUT.🦈

Sorry Wayne...try again others need your blood. I've been going there for over a year. It means more to me that I have saved someone's life than what another person's day has been. We have to suck up sometimes in life so we can give what someone else desperately needs

do you pay for plasma donatyion??

OneBlood is a not-for-profit organization and regulated by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Volunteer donors remain the only source of blood for patients in need. FDA regulations prohibit blood centers from paying donors for their lifesaving donations. However, it is common for us to recognize donors by offering special promotional items such as t-shirts, coupons, discount tickets or gift cards. The availability of these items may change or may not always be available to donors depending on the specific promotion or location.

Thank you for your interest in being a blood donor. We cannot pay for blood donations since the blood we collect is transfused to patients. We do offer a thank you gift to our donors, which varies by date and location. You can find more information on our website www.oneblood.org
