I reported that we had no income on the 19th of September my case worker just called me and said because I didn't report on the 15th of September my rent will not go down for October regardless of no income. Seema to me Dallas county doesn't know how it works becausw this isn't right. Anyone else have a problem like this? And should I get an attorney I think they need to be audited.

If you have a family do not move to Dallas county housing they’re so unorganized No one knows what’s going on Seems like the workers don’t want be there Ms.Felicia is terrible she used to moms losing their housing It’s so many ppl lost they voucher with Dallas county I went to pick my paperwork she did my briefing in 5 mins she was too busy trying to order lunch She told me I had 2 weeks to find a place she literally laughed in my face because she knew it was impossible I had to reach out to her supervisor She was more confused I hope they fix this problem before more moms and kids lose they place this is ridiculous I had to reach out to the director for information They don’t want work I was so disgusted leaving there I threw the paperwork away I still complain and emailed them because that can hurt the next mom and her kids Don’t deal with Dallas county

I came in to check on my application for assistance. The staff was real helpful and polite. I explained my situation to Dallari at the front desk, she was very patient and caring. She explained to me how the program works, and gave me other resources to try. I thank you so much. I pray that you keep that caring spirit and don’t let anything change it.

Yes you can after 5 years but you can go to the T.D. Jakes T.O.R.I. program located 1810 High Hill Blvd, Dallas, TX 75203 the program is 1 year long and there is a $5 fee upfront and you have to attend a few classes once a week to be rehabilitated and after that year you will be placed in one of Jakes 3 apartment complexes for a year then after the year is up you will then receive a housing choice voucher believe me its worth it so I hope this will help you and please pass it on so that it may help another and good luck
Best to go in location speak in person
The waiting list is closed but Dallas does have their public housing waiting list open just Google Dallas public housing waiting list I hope this helps and please pass it on so that it may be able to help another good luck
Gosection8.com Or you can go to any office and they HV a listing of all property's
I believe so if they are a live-in caregiver
How can i switch from Dallas housing to Dallas County housing
Go to the office on Stemmons Dallas County Health and Human services on the 7 th floor
If y'all are in a shelter in can show proof it , it will be easy and quick for you to get in the program.
Will they pick from the list thats opening
You have to find out if they are accepting applications and if it is waiting list. Everything is on hold due to COVID-19. I hope this answers your question
You have to call the office for that information. Right now I not sure how their operating due to the pandemic. I pray you will be able to get an answer from them God bless you 🙏🏽
Yes, especially if you are relocationg and already bon housing
There waiting list is closed. It open last March. and they are not taking any application
I believe you can call to see when another class is available.
Huh
You gotta complain to the business bureau these reviews do nothing as far as getting people removed .
So that means I'm not accepted than ??? If i have to sign up again then I have to get back in the list sadly and it's no since in that
I just have her office number and email
I would port into Dallas County, it will give you a larger selection.
When are they accepting new ones

They have a waiting list it's not open right there still placing the one's that's on the list when it was open it took me almost five years to get it. If you already have it in your home town it might not take long to transfer to Dallas just check with your home town office to see. I pray your able to get to Dallas 🙏🙌 if so come visit Full Gospel Holy Temple we're live just look us up, God bless you.
For Dallas County Housing is Vanessa Jones but you have to speak to your case manager in the state you have housing with first.
You can go to 2377 N. Stemmons frwy...to 7th floor and inquire if they r taking applications at the moment...but honestly it took about 8 years to get mine...now u may want to check out mesquite housing or grand prairie housing I hear they take about a year
Same. How long did it take for your inspection to happen?
No I don't think so
Go to the place they never answer
The best way to find out the answer to that question would be to call. Are you porting out because of emergency evacuation?
Um who ever you applied with for housing you need to contact them.
No you cannot, section 8 is not offered to felons. I suggest that once your charge is old enough to seal, do that as soon as possible! My sister had the same problem.
Yes as long as you have some type of income but it my come with stipulations. It just depends though. Good luck with that
Date should be listed on the Notice of Intent form, you received from the Office
The waiting list just closed but the public housing waiting list is open just Google it hope this helps and please pass it on god bless
No the waiting list just closed but the public housing waiting list is open
They are not doing the annual recertification due to them not having any funding for anyone to move its been like that since last year just a few months back they sent out a letter stating about everyone had to go to that website and register so that was the recertification btw you can move but you have to stay in your same zip code and the rent has to be the same amount as it now hope this helps and please pass this message on
6 months to a year

If your spouse isn't on your housing contract you can get in trouble or kicked off of housing for having them there if you are caught or reported
Yes
I signed up in 2011 and got it 2013
Report any fraudulent activity to your Section 8 Caseworker supervisor. Then contact the fair housing authority for Dallas County and report them. You can also get free legal aid to sue them, MLK center downtown offers free legal aid on certain days of the month, be sure to bring all documentation and be prepared to spend the entire day.
If you have children go to a local shelter they help faster instead of waiting on the wait list if you want to it took me 3weeks to get a voucher
Absolutely. Here is a website that explains the timeline on the shut down so far and how it may affect Section 8 Housing payments. https://affordablehousingonline.com/shutdown
Just call and ask. They will give you the number for that line
Call the worker or the front desk
7th floor
