It’s ok. It’s a very busy practice, so it can be hard to get an appointment, especially with a doctor (MD or DO). However, it’s easier to get an appointment with a physician assistant or nurse practitioner since they don’t perform endoscopic procedures. Positives • The physician assistant, Stephanie and Dr. Razavi who did my colonoscopy and EGD at Reading Hospital were warm, caring, patient, helpful, and patient. He supervised a GI fellow from Reading Hospital perform the procedures and she visited me before and after the procedure. • The physician assistant contacts me of any test results and concerns in between appointments • They respond to messages in a timely manner. • Convenient location and along the bus stop • I like the online portal Follow My Health where you can access your medical records, send messages to your doctor. Negatives: • Wait times can be long, as I’ve waited about almost 30 minutes to be brought back to the room and several minutes to check out • I don’t like their checkout because they are assigned to certain providers and document things into the chart in between patients • There are so many doctors and less exam rooms. • Sometimes hard to schedule an appointment. • Since it’s an independent practice, they are not part of Reading Hospital Tower Health or Penn State Health St. Joseph, but perform procedures at both hospitals and at the endoscopy center next door, and also visit patients at the hospital. • They don’t use MyTowerHealth, so it’s a good idea to have a list of medications, medical conditions, past health history, etc. • They use wrist blood pressure monitors claiming it’s convenient for the medical assistants to use instead of regular blood pressure monitors that go on the arm. They can be inaccurate sometimes.

The doctors I saw were so kind and listened to all my questions and my history. They were caring and empathetic about everything I told them. They asked me many question and took their time to listen and explain everything to me. I highly recommend their practice

I haven't even had my appointment yet and I'm already disgusted with this place. It is next to impossible to speak to someone on the phone. The first time I called to make an appointment I was on hold for 50 minutes and I pressed one for a call back and to hold my place in line and when I received a call awhile later, they transferred me and I was put right back on the end of the list. Then I called again another time and pressed one for a call back, and a staff member did not return my call for about 3 days. This morning I called at 8:00 a.m. and I was on hold for almost 40 minutes and I hung up because I couldn't stand it any longer. Very bad first impression and I haven't even set foot inside this place yet. It's really sad that this is our healthcare system. You can't get any help! Who is going to trust a group of providers with their health when initial communication is practically non-existent?

The chairs are uncomfortable if you are planning to wait.

About 30 minutes at lease for me
Me neither. Mine was done last September without any problem.
