Fantastic facility. Beautifully laid out with really well equipped services for shotgun, rifle, handgun and archery ranges. Easy to get in and back out to the main road. Also within close distance to the local trapping supply store.

By far the cleanest and best run range I have ever been to. I have even shot at some private ranges that were not this nice. The range officers are all volunteers, but are very knowledgeable and nice. The rifle range is from 25 to 100 yards. I have never been there when the grass wasn't cut or wasn't presentable.

By far the nicest firing range I have ever been to. The fact that it’s free boggles my mind because I’ve paid memberships to ranges that weren’t HALF the quality of this range. This is the only place I go to shoot and will continue to go as long as I have a gun, ammo, and the desire to improve.

Visited the range today for the first time to sight-in my scope on my new Browning BAR . I was a qualified Range Officer while serving in the U. S. Navy and i must say this range is way beyond the best ranges we had. This range provides covered (shaded) shooting stations for left or right handed shooters, shooting rests, sand bags, target stands, paper targets, staple guns, staples, hearing protection, eye protection, fans, cold water fountains, clean bathrooms... To get these types of amenaties, one would normally have to join a shooting club but here in central Louisiana its FREE...that's right FREE to the public! Naturally you have to adhere to normal safety precaution while utilizing the range. Thank you Louisiana Departement of Wildlife and Fisheries for providing this service! You definately got this one right!

If needed, sign up at hunter-ed.com and do the online course for Louisiana. Then you can look at the links for the next classes on the La. Dept of W&F site under education and Hunter Safety. They are all over the state, not just at Woodworth. HTH.
Nothing for the rifle or pistol range. Best public range i have used. Just sign in, follow the rules and have fun. Ear protection, targets, stands, rifle rests, brass catchers and even staplers are free to use. No rapid fire. Respect the range, the officers and your fellow shooters. Small charge for round of clays if using the shotgun range. Hope this helps...
Should be OK I've seen a .50 cal Barrett fired there.
LDWF does not offer any concealed carry classes. However there are two private teachers that use the Woodworth classroom once a month to teach concealed carry classes. Please call 318-484-2212 and leave us a message with your name, number, and reason for calling to receive more information.
