I extremely barely write a review. It definitely doesn’t worth for 4.0 star hotel. The AC is so loud and dusty. After 5 hours of driving, I still couldn’t sleep in this hotel because the noise of the AC and the blanket. When ever you move on the bed, the blanket make noise and discomfort. I have been traveled a lot, and the quality of the bed is really important to me, La quinta Inn and Suite has even better quality without 4.0 stars. There’s no water in the room, either vending machine in entire hotel. I don’t know how it could be 4.0. This is a joke haha. I hope people can see this review to help them out and even the management of this hotel should know this. I don’t know they care about customer’s experience or not. LOL. We have three people and non of us could sleep. It’s not just about me. Almost $300 for a non sleep night. Good a very best luck for this business.

When my boyfriend and I got to our reserved room, we had a severe issue almost immediately. However, the staff was amazing about solving it and upgraded us to a suite. They were very accommodating and considerate. Also, the elevator was down during our stay.

The Lumen is a renovated hotel. The pool is lovely. The Front Room Tavern has good happy hour specials. We had the chicken Alfredo and the strawberry salad which were very tasty. For the convenience of being a 5 minute walk to McFarlin Auditorium I was happy to not drive. Yet for the price I was disappointed. The elevator was not working (equipment breaks down) and we had to use the stairs. Again not a problem for us, but the stairwell was not clean. Housekeeping obviously had to use it which is understandable, but there was too much clutter. Even early this morning when we left, there was a dirty mop bucket and smelly water. One other little point was 2 bottles of water in the room were marked $5 each. I stay at other less pricey hotels and water is a courtesy. No coffee available either. The room was ok, comfortable bed, but nothing special.

Be warned, this is not a 4-star hotel. It's 3-star at best. 4-star hotels don't have dried urine caked on the bottom of the toilet seat (which means not only are surfaces in the bathroom not disinfected; they're not even wiped down). 4-star hotels don't have bed mattresses that are falling apart, creaking and groaning with every movement. 4-star hotels don't have bathroom floors that are sticky with goodness knows what substance. 4-star hotels have bathroom sinks that actually permit water to flow toward the drain instead of being completely flat. 4-star hotels have room service. And so on...I certainly won't return here. You are paying a high markup for the location in Highland Park ($450+ a night).

I know google says it's pet friendly, but I haven't yet seen a rating that says it was ok for their pets. Also, the description did not state that it was pet friendly. Could someone clarify this for me?

Stayed a few nights there and was near lobby, saw guests in and out with dogs through guest elevator. Doesn't hurt to give em a ring if there is a size limit.
