This insurance is worse than having no coverage! Every place that I've tried to use it has said they either don't take the insurance or that service or medication is cheaper without their insurance. With open enrollment coming I'm getting this WASTE of money off the payroll

The HEALTHPLEX Dental plan, through MVP is the worst dental plan you can imagine, and I would suggest you NOT consider doing business with them. Right from the get-go, when I asked HEALTHPLEX for a list of dentists to review, they informed me that they would ONLY release that information to members, and for good reason, many of the few dentist that they have on their plan have bad Google reviews. It took me over an hour to find a dentist that, at the time, I felt was competent. Five months , after my first visit to one of their dentist for a cleaning, I fractured an upper right molar (early January 2020). I called the dentist for an appointment to have this looked over / to have it repaired and I was informed that the dentist was at his other practice for the week, in California! After waiting five days for an appointment, and having the tooth X-rayed, and checked, the dentist informed me that I would have to find another dentist to do the work! So again I had to look through their thin list of dentists to find one that was competent, and finally, after another couple of hours found one who WAS able to do the work. But that's not the end of this nightmare. After this new dentist took X-rays, and submitted all of the data required by HEALTHPLEX to have the work approved, (this is now late February 2020) in late March 2020 the work was still not approved, and the dentist received notice, at that time that ,HEALTHPLX needed more information. My new dentist re-submitted all the data twice more, and as of my last visit to him in August 2020, he has not received approval from HEALTHPLEX to do the work. Finally, in September 2020, I decided to no longer pay the premium to MVP for their lousy dental plan! And MVP is no help either! I have complained to their Customer Service recently and have gotten no help from them! The several times I have directly complained to MVP concerning HEALTHPLEX, MVP informs me to contact HEALTHPLEX! Following MVP's advice, the times I have contacted Healthplex's Customer Service line, they have been very condescending and no help at all! At present, I have been suffering with this now for almost 10 months!! Take it for someone who has been there, STAY AWAY FROM THE MVP /HEALTHPLEX DENTAL PLAN!!
