The Knights of Pythias. They are a fraternal order that has been in existence since the civil war. At one point the order had several chapters across the nation and each chapter had an orphan/widows home. The one in Weatherford is one of two still open and in operation. Also it is one of two that looked like a castle. Google Pythian Home and they will show you all the homes and were they were.

It is an active children's home in Weatherford TX.. They take no state or federal funds. Awsome place to go vist

Is there an opportunity for someone to volunteer in any way at all.. cooking cleaning or reading to children once a week that would be a true blessing to my disabled daughter and I. It has been on my heart for a few weeks now.

Yes. You must go through the background check and pass before hand, but it truly is an amazing concept. You should give them a call and talk to one of the directors.
