Went to get marriage license. I'd already applied online with my partner, 30 days prior. When I walked up to the teller, she asked where my fiance was, and if SHE had also come with me. I said, uh, I didn't know we both needed to come. We have our JP Court appointment and had no idea both people had to take time off work, to pick up the document. And then I said, no ma'am, my partner is at work. HE is unable to take time off today to come in. This is Dallas County. Do not assume the person you are talking to is a straight person. Rude. Second, after you say something dumb like that, at least be less rude afterwards. Please and thank you. I'm here to get a document not teach manners and etiquette.

I called the Vital Records Division because not only am I getting married soon, which will have me changing my last name - I was wanting to see if I could also get my full name change (I've been planning on changing my name for a while to honor my late Mother) at the same time. The lady who picked up the phone & was "answering" even the most BASIC of questions (Like, how does the application process work.? I just moved to a new city AND county, the process is REALLY different here!) wouldn't even let me finish ASKING my questions! Before I could finishing even SAYING what it was I wanted to ask, she would bark the answer at me. It was wrong by the way ma'am, if you ever see this. I have a driver's license that I will not be expired by the time I GET married. That wasn't my question at all. You would have known that had you let me FINISH SAYING ANYTHING. Thanks for making the marriage license application process memorable, Wylie. Great first impression! Pro-tip to anyone else getting married in this city: just do as much of the process as you can online because the city staff is RUDE.

What did you need
We are both widowed
Can they married you there also.
Did you ever find out how ?
Do we need to both be present and how much and what issues to take and when do you pay for license
Its rather easy. Both of you must go down to record building on Elm street apply for the licenses. You will need ID and $81
No that's not required they should try another marriage office
You can get a copy of marriage license and your divorce decree
No, you have 90 days after the license is issued to get married. The 3 days is just the required waiting period to use the license.
Yes they are by appointments only you have to do your application online and I'll give you have gets a reference number and then when you call they're gonna ask
Yes
I always park in the little garage across the street, on the other side of the Dart tracks. Costs about $9 for less than an hour.
Don't know about that i am sorry.
Look it up on line in the county they got married in . call the county clerk and they will tell u the sire to go on
Where can I make her go call to make the appointment I need an address I live in garland
Just one
No sorry but the courts are not open on any major holidays.
Yep!
If serving in the Army, you dont need to wait that 72 hours and yes it gets waived.
No, just one person. It is a public information.
Sad
Can I get a copy of my marriage license on line or by mail
You need to ask for them at the 21st floor.
What is the address I would send request to? And what info do I need to provide? And what is the cost?
For marriage license yes idk about anything else
Appointment only
I went the other day and had an AZ license and was still able to get one
Call and make an appointment the number is on their website
ID, 81 dollars and fill out the application online, and call the number to make an appointment once you filled out the application online... you will pay at your appointment.
Go to dallascounty.org and apply for one. Only works if the marriage was in dallas county. If not, contact the county you were married in and ask them.
Go to dallascounty.org and go to the records menu. There should be an option to request marriage certificates. If it isn't there, search the website until you find it.
I believe you can go downtown dallas where they do the marriage license at and fill out the paperwork there.
If you ha e another "valid" form of ID, suck as a S.S.card birth certificate, passport, etc... I'm not really sure, but most government agencies take other forms of ID.
1201 Elm St 21st floor....
Definitely!! Congratulations!!!
As long as they are up to date. ID: state ID or any US ID. SS and Birth certificate: must be a official copy given to you with in the pass 10 years.
I'm not sure we did our recording of our marriage same day we got married we were told if u mail it in it can get misplaced
Go to the county clerk
Why do you mean by informal marriage
Dallascounty.org/government/county-clerk/narriage-license.php
In my case was my pastor at my church
It may not be open, but I'd go a few days before the Holidays to be sure you are able to get your Marriage License. Offices are typically closed or close early during Holidays.
Identification as what. If they did not give me the marriage license What I can do.
