Go see it. The moss covered Trees and the closeness to Newnans Lake will make you feel alive. Be careful during the sunny days though. The lake is full of Gators. As beautiful as they are, don't mess with them.

Back in 1976 I was a student at the University of Florida and earned extra money by teaching a class in biology and local zoology at the Florida State museum. Several times back then I took groups of students to this location along beautiful Newnan lake. I was happy to find it just as beautiful and unspoiled recently as it was back then in '76.

This place is great for viewing wildlife. I've seen alligators, snakes, and leaches to name a few. I recommend watching the sunrise, it's amazing.

Quite place when alone. Grounds are a little soft and shore area a little messy. Benches and one table are dirty. Regular maintenance of this city park must be lacking during "public health shut-down".

Yes, it's free to park and fish or walk the trails. Sunup to sundown
There are several places along the trail or you can fish from the point itself. The deepest water in the lake is just off the point.
You will have to call parks and recreation. But i don't think so. There is parking on the side of the road though.
