My husband protested our taxes and had two separate Professional appraisals that we paid for. One was in July, then another in April. Our tax appraisal date was supposedly January. During the protest, they basically said we see your point but too bad. Our taxes have risen exponentially. The professional appraisers won’t give me a refund. Obviously these Kaufman county tax assessors are a bunch of people on a HUGE power trip. Now I see there’s an overage and they won’t give a refund. These people are crooks

Hello Rebecca. I would assume that it is the same as Dallas County or any other county in Texas. i do recommend that you visit the Tax Office in Kaufman to assure you get the proper answers you need to make the transfer.
It's based on the age & value of your car, so it varies quite a bit.
No, you need to go to a Dept of Public Safety (DPS) office, sometimes referred to as the DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) office. You can go to any office - just search for one that's convenient for you. (The tax assessors office only collects taxes)
